In finally got all the parts back together for my custom bike. The V-bars I ordered didn't have internal wire guides so I had to send them back. Wally's Cycle World was a pleasure to deal with. They actually sent me a second set of bars and credited my credit card before I even sent the first set of bars back! Pretty unusual service these days!
The bike now has new progressive front suspension, new handlebars, full floating front brake rotor, new Kuryakyn switch housings with OEM switches and new OEM style front brake and clutch controls. I also replaced the Ness Billet (slippery) polished grips with some new Accutronixs knurled billet grips that match the knurled brake and shifter levers I originally got from The Pirates Den. I also replaced the front headlight with a "swept" design light.

Half the wiring harness was replaced with the new controls. The Thunderheart Electronic controller is easy to deal with and is zip tied up and tucked back under the seat.

Good lord man, now this is just a guess on my part, but I'm thinking you are going to sell the bike after a short time. How can anyone pay you enough to recoup the time you must have in this gorgeous piece of rolling art?
Just my stinking mind working overtime I'm sure. But let me say that you are an artist of the highest order.:eusa_clap:

The bike has been for sale for quite a while Frank. The problem is, as you say, no one has offered what I think it's worth! They probably never will! That's why I do what I do to it, to please myself...I will probably be the only owner (not that that's a bad thing:))

Hmmm . . . to please yourself you say. When I use any term close to that my Bonnie uses other terms: selfish in one which comes up quite often. :icon_redface:
Oh well, at least when you are done you have an artistic piece worthy of living its live in a museum. I, on the other hand, have something designed and made by someone else. Not exactly the same. :eusa_clap:
I'm glad your wife understands. :eusa_clap:

Randy lad,
I'm just really curious, exactly how much are you talking about?

Around 20K Frank. The exact amount depends on my frame of mind, time of day, how much cash is in front of me and what is at the top of my current wish list!:icon_wink:

Randy,
All those custom builders should come to and bow down at your drill press, because you my friend are an Artisian. They are not good enough to clean
your shop. Your Bike can be ridden...not the BS hunks of shine they build.
If I had the cash, you'd get it. I love that motorcycle.

Thanks Roger, I like it as well. Which is probably why I still have it :045:
Out of all the bikes I have built or restored, this one is my favorite.

Sano my friend...very sano !
As for selling it...I hope you don't but if you try, you will.
You just have to be patient, get it "out there" where it will be seen by the *one guy* who likes it, understands it, wants it, has the money to pay for it, and is willing to part with the $$. And be patient...you built it, he will come.
I did all that in selling my custom/hotrod Norton...except the patience part. I allowed myself to get boxed-in, time wise due to my (then) pending retirement, the need to eliminate "stuff", shortage of room, and needing the $$ for other bikes, other projects.
I sold it to the first serious buyer who saw it, but my hastily set price was much lower than the bike would have brought had I waited. And been patient.

I wish you still had that Norton Dave, then I could ride it!

I wish I still had it too Randy...sometimes !
And of course you could ride it.
In 30 years, I let maybe 4 people ride it.

$20k for a beautiful, honest to goodness, unique custom? Written up in a national publication? Actually road worthy? Built by a guy who cares that the bike functions, and know how to assure it does?
Sounds like a bargain to me. Sigh... if only the coin jar were not mostly empty.
