It took a bit of head scratching and a few beers, but I found a place to mount a Stebel on the ST.
I mounted it on the left side on the same tab as the rear suspension adjustment knob. Had to fabricate a mount.
I wired the relay by tapping the stock horn wire, so it still works as well and I don't get a horn fault in the computer.
It is LOUD!!!!! Check it out.......

That's what I need on my R11S Roger. No one pays ant attention to my OEM piece of junk. It might as well be a dog whistle.

EBay Bubba, 35 bucks delivered to my door. You might have the same problem I did. There just is not any room to mount the Stebel anywhere under the fairing on the ST. So I used the big space on the left side. Sure it's not under the fairing, but who cares. The install will look fine as soon as I paint up the .125 inch Aluminium plate I built the mount out of.
I built a fused custom harness when I first got the ST, wired direct to the battery to run accessories so power was easy. The relay is tapped to the stock horn wire so I have both horns..like you can hear it over the Stebel.
BTW...DO NOT set that bad boy off in the garage without hearing protection...DAMHIK. My neighbors thought I bought a train.

Dean....thought of you as I was making my mount. Funny thing, I just happened to make 2. Have the mounting bolts as well. I'll paint em both up.
Tell you what, I'll come up for a day in the truck, and install the horn and modify the HF tire machine for you. I'm on vacation the 2 weeks after Christmas. I'll call you after Christmas and work out a day.
Cafe Brother's, I have a Quad-Cab....anybody intrested in a ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of horns, we were speaking of horns, at least I think we were. In any case, I recall in one of my early Florida moves, having an R69S. As some can attest, old, 6 volt BMW's did not really have horns. They did have something which made a bit of noise, but no one could really call it a horn.
In any case, I was new to Florida and the . . . well . . . rather aged drivers in the Miami area at the time. In any case, what passed for a "horn" did not get their attention, not at all. Yet, as anyone who has had a /2 BMW can tell you, there was no electrical power to do anything, anything at all.
So I took a boat horn, one which had an attached compressed gas horn with it. I recall there being a set of three horns, each a different length/pitch. My horn relay had just enough power to trip the electrical gas valve. Let me tell you, what ever it cost, what ever it took, it was worth it.
It worked and worked well. Of course I'm sure it was REALLY illegal, hell I had a more than one semi "jump" out of my way.

I do look back at those days with fondness from time-to-time. :)

As a matter of fact we are talking about horns. My Dad had a R69S and I know the horn of which you speak...I can fart louder than that.
I really like your soultion.

If it only scares blue haired old ladies and unattentive cage drivers I'll be more than happy.

For which bike? Either of those will work although I'm partial to the airhorn.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday and am now trying to figur out where I'm going to mount it. There is very little room where the oem horn is located because the Ohlins shock takes up more space then the Showa. I'll prolly look at it for a couple of days before I srtip off the Tupperware and solve the problem.
