Since a few of you guys are building homes, working on property, or whatever I thought I'd pass along a hopefully helpful tidbit about the Swisher ATV Pallet Lifter. We got one at work earlier this year, fitted it to our old Kawasaki Mule and it's been a huge time saver when we need to move something but don't want to go find a "certified forklift operator" and his forklift. The lifter is rated to 250lbs but we've done a bit more than that. YMMV.
We had to do a bit of sq. tube construction on the front of the Mule since the unit was designed for an ATV but we got it to work probably better than Swisher planned. The winch is a cheap-o from eBay so the whole contraption was officially less than $500 to put it together. I think if I owned property or was building something like a bunkhouse, barn, or other on-going project I'd have one of these to move junk around and make life a little easier. It can't do a proper lift like fork truck can but for crates, tool boxes, and general junk it's been a wonder. The forks are quick detach and the whole main unit comes off in about 60 sec. with just a quick pin and a pivot rod.
If you're interested you can find the lift for sale all over the 'net.
