Hello Gents,

I made it back to beautiful warm and sunny Arizona last night - Yahoo! Man the weather is just perfect here, so happy to be back for a few weeks.

I need your collective advice and counsel. My experience with satellite radio is limited to the XM Roady2 I have had hard-wired to my RT for the past year or so.

I am preparing to drive my VW Touareg (aka: "The Panzer" ) back to DC, pulling my track bikes in a trailer, in the first week of March. I really like the XM radio on my bike, but I am considering getting a Sirius radio for my VW. The VW is a great car - has every possible accessory - except satellite radio. On the long, three-day drive, I would like to try out Sirius radio so I can listen to Howard Stern and just try it out in general.

What I am looking for is a simple Sirius unit which I can use with a cigarette lighter adapter in my car, and then have the option of mounting to my bike later should I decide that I prefer Sirius to XM.

So I'm all ears - in partiular, if any of you can recommend a model of Sirius for my purposes, and or a suggested retailer, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Bob,
Sirius had a promo in Jan that can save you 10% off the receiver and the subscription. Plus a $50 rebate. I'll try and locate that link....I'm not sure if they killed the promo or if it's still valid. I'll try to post a link in the evening. As far as which receiver is better....keep away from the Kenwood (if they are selling it). My friend had one in his car and that thing heats up like nobodys business.
