So I'm watching the Redskins/Cowboys, and this Cadillac commercial is advertising a "40 gig hard drive" in their new CTS. What are they talking about? Is it for an MP3 player?

Oh, tells you how much I look at I-pods.

They have Laurence Welk on CD's AND Ipod's??????
We should pipe it on loud speakers in Iraq.....take about 2 hours and they would surrender. Heavy Metal worked on Noriega.

The current iPod "classic" holds up to 160 gig of music/TV shows/Movies/data/WTF-ever. The new iPod "Touch" (a WiFi iPod & WWW browser [Safari] in the iPhone case) is either 8 or 16gig (you're paying for the box R&D). The CTS (gag me with a nuclear warhead) has a 40gig drive (which costs about $25 @ Frys), and can either play your stored media (via USB), or transfer it to the "media" system drive, and keep it in the car.
Why not just put a Mac mini in the glove box & run it from a small LCD screen? You could park outside St*rbucks & surf the web all day.
Cadillac - ptosh.

This is a formidable sedan. No hard drive necessary.

BMW makes a great road car, I own one. However, I wouldn't be too quick to discount Caddy's improvement in class. I suspect the M car costs close to twice what the CTS does. If you compare the new CTS to the 3 or 5 series things get much closer. Now that our BMW is out of warranty, the repair costs are starting to get ugly.

GM may not have the snob appeal of Mercedes, Porsche, or BMW, but the new Corvettes and Caddys are much improved cars. And, if bang for the buck in part of the equation, they are easy winners. Take a new Z06 or a CTS-V out for a spin. You may be surprised.

The Caddy that ran in World Challenge Speed GT the last three years, winning the Manufacturer's Championship twice was in a league by itself. BMW raced in World Challenge Touring class and finished last, behind Mazda, Acura, and Audi. Lots of BMW's are raced, but they only seem to win when they're only racing each other.
