need help posting images

Could someone walk me through the process of posting an image in a thread. I have a couple pictures of a cargo bar I made for my bike I wanted to share.

I will try.

First your pic needs a URL number...(right click on it..click properties)

If you want to use a pic that's on another site..often you can just right click it to get the URL.

If you have a personal pic like one you've taken it gets a bit messy.

You will need to give your pic a URL by posting it somewhere.

My Internet provider gives me something called 'space'.(it's only small so I often have to clear out old pics to make way for mew ones)...

..and once set up I can post my own pics there and then they will have a URL that I can then copy.

Once you have a URL number to post them here it's easy..in your reply box where you comment..just above there's a small pic that looks like square with a mountain and sun in the sky..it's only small....click on it and another box will open up above...paste your URL there and it will appear in your comment.

Try it with a pic from anther site..or even one that I've posted and see if you can do it.

Hope this helps...btw...if you can't set up your own 'space'..there are sites where you can post your pics (for free) and then link to them.

The hell with it. I edited this post a dozen times trying to use http://www.imagevenue.com/ but it only links back to their home page.

I like that thumbnail feature, but I can't get it to work.

OK - using http://www.imagevenue.com once you've uploaded the pic,
you'll get a screen that looks like this:

Hotlink a clickable thumbnail on a Forum or Message Board Use the second link if this one fails.

then DO NOT use the yellow icon tool (the mountain/sun button above)


just post the copied address directly into your post, and you get this:

this was inserted using the "paper clip" button in the toolbar for posting, but you're limited to pics UNDER 100k, and they show as thumbs w/ a box around it. I don't like squishing pics down to 100k or less.

Si,

Once you have the location (URL) of the image you wish to display, then you have to insert it into your posts.

The easiest way to do that here is to copy the image location into the line that you get when you click on the "mountain" icon just above the reply area. The image you've chosen is located here:

http://img140.imagevenue.com/loc64/th_ccf24_flyingfck.jpg

So this would go into the line that opens up when you click the bizarre mountain icon above your reply box. Note that just by entering the address of the image, you automagically get a link to it that is clickable and shows the image in another window if clicked.

There are other ways, but that is the simplest. Hope this helps.
