Randy -
If you are going to post here, please wash & wax your bikes. Clean 'em up!

Den,
That 'cycle' of your son's brings back terrible memories for me!
My brother had one in the mid '60's - in about '67 I took it on a 1700 mile trip! That was sheer pain! My right hand was swollen about 1" due to the virbration, it was geared so badly that on the open road with a head wind it would do no more than 45mph, and I had to keep stopping ever few hundred miles to re-weld the bottom frame tubes that kept breaking!
I guess putting round the neighborhood is OK!

Geez, 'Burner...
The picture's so bad it is impossible for me to tell. I would love to take a swing at it, but without a better pic... Well... I dunno'...
Cheers!

Lance,
I use Photoshop Elements, a low cost alternative to the Full-Blown Photoshop. It has an option on one of the pull-down menus to “Save For the Web.” That is the option I generally use to downsize an image.
I imagine there are a number of different ways to downsize for posting, as well as a number of different programs capable of doing it. This topic comes up enough that one could start a thread on it. I bet there is a lot of excellent information out there.

Well, Mr Burner (or can I call you Rice?) that looks to be a Ducati Pantah TL600cc. This one has had none standard dropped 'bars fitted. The "TL" was the standard (or touring) version of the more common Pantah which came as standard with drop 'bars and a sports fairing. They started out as 500cc but were increased in capacity after a couple of years.
A lot of "TL"s were used by various Italian Police forces.
This was the first Ducati to use cam belts instead of the old bevel gear driven cammshafts. They were prettty reliable (for a Ducati !!!!!!!!!!!) the only major problem being the gearbox which was rubbish on the 500's but much improved on the later 600's.
I was Service Manager at a Ducati dealership back then and writing the warranty claims gave me writers cramp (and an aversion to Ducatis that persists to this day!).
Heal quickly James,
Simon.

Well done Simon. :) Have to admit I never had problems with the gearbox, but after a frame replacement it wouldn't run on both pots and I sold it as a non-runner. :(
I crashed it about 3 months after I bought it and it ended up having quite a few changes. The bike ended up with a Guzzi LeMans1 bikini fairing, Jota Bars, Gloss black paint, K&N's, Conti 2-1 race system, Alazurra GT rear wheel and home made pegs. Was quite a head-turner and I'd love to have it back.
Sorry about the pic quality, dunno what happened there.
Hi All
My wife Marion had several R60's and I went from R60 to R50/5 to R75/6 to R80/7 , break for 25 years and now my new R1150R.
In 1979 we picked up a new R80/7 in London, Isle of Mann, Dutch GP etc, 10 weeks around Europe and shipped it back to Oz.

Goggomobile Dart, I've seen references to them in print but never seen a photo. It's rather stylish really. I can see it making a great first car for a youngster. Feel free to tell us more....................
How do you find the 1150R fits in with the memories of your earlier boxers then Martin?
Simon.
