Well, now I know where all that college debt comes from. And them kids are rude too...

I get to my lot this morning and there's that Duc 999 Testastretta parked where he/she usually parks. So someone is doing okay, right? So, I make my turn to go down to MY spot and there's an SV1000 parked in it. Not a hugely 'spensive bike, but in my spot. Right next to it is a more orangeish than red Screaming Eagle Harley V-Rod, a more or less expensive ride. None of these has frost on them, so they must have gotten in just a little before me.

Now, I've ridden most of the winter through rain and cold and I've more or less claimed my spot over the years by squatters rights, right?. I haven't had to mark the territory by whizzing on it (truth be told, the cold might have prevented me finding the tool to do the whizzing) because I'm normally lifting the bike on the center stand way before any riders show up in the morning. So, what gives? As Dangerfield said, "I can't get any respect."

Damn kids! I've got a spot under the overhang of our building that is absolutely mine. Out of the weather and the sun as well.

We share the campus here at Ft. Johnson with the College of Charleston's Grice Marine Lab. The best thing I've seen out here is an SV 650. Today the only student bike I see is an aging Suzuki Savage. It does look a bit wild, but savage? Kid must be prety tough, though. There was ice in the bird baths when I left home this morning. Thought my fingertips were going to explode off the ends of my fingers. Heated grips? Hell no! I live in South Carolina.

George,

You absolutely cracked me up with this one:

"Heated grips? Hell no! I live in South Carolina."
