A friend from my old employer, Tucker Rocky, stopped by to show me his new ride...an "Anthracite KTM 990 FI Super Duke !" And to let me sample it's charms of course, of which there are plenty.
It's a nice motorcycle. Lighter then the Speedy, feels much lighter...and the 416 lb. (dry) Speedy is no porker. Loves to short-shift and pull, a la' a big, hi-tech fuelie V-twin, smokin' crack ! It wasn't broken in so I did nothing above 6500 RPM.
The front brake, with radial master cylinder & calipers is just outstanding ! Handling is quick, nimble, light & flickable.
Great ergo's, very comfortable seat on a 10 mile test.
But, like so many other Euro "badge brands", over-priced at $14K & change.
For $5K less, I'll take the more powerful, faster, sexier Speedy in a New York minute !
Anyway, my bud's Speed Triple is super clean, 7K miles, well-farkled including Triumph performance slip-ons.
He wants "about $8K". If there is any interest, I can provide pics & contact info.
