An hour ago Keith Martin set a new S.C.T.A record of 139.822 mph on 728B, a Triumph T-140 powered, alcohol-nitro fuel injected racer. The bike is currently in tech inspection. The old record was 134 mph held by a Harley XR-750. You can check out the bike at

It suprises everyone who tries, just how hard it is to set records at Bonneville.

Thanks Dogster.

Yes, and it *looks* so easy !
But if it was, everybody would be doing it...but they aren't.

You have no idea how proud I am of my 144.4 riding my R1200ST at the Bonneville Bubb meet.

Randy is to be congratulated.

Road Doggie -
I assume you are monitoring the SCTA/BNI website for results...good.
I'll keep posting Randy's calls on the "For Randy & Scott" thread...we can't have too much coverage for those boys !

Just in from the Peckerhead News Network:

It's official, Keith Martin's RPM Cycle will take home two records.

Yesterday afternoon Dennis Tackett on 607, a Triumph vertical twin in the 650cc pushrod class ran 114.92 mph in the second mile and this morning ran 112.08 for a new class record of 113.5 mph. The old record was 100.79 mph. 607 is a joint project between Keith Martin and Ed Mabry of Mabry Racing.

Keith plans on making another run today on 728. He feels confident he can beet his previous record.

The team will be returning home tomorrow afternoon. Look for two new plaques prominently displayed at RPM Cycle.

Randy 8/15:

B-765 FRS Engineering 750CC/APS-PG 119.750 119.252 121.177 121.915

Looks like Randy is in the fast lane again.

Ack Attack streamliner wrecks during a return run at the BUB meet, it may have been in the measured mile. Rocky went high 290's down run and went to return and reported got into a bad wobble, went on its side and pencil rolled. Rocky is OK. Dont know the extent of damage yet.

Ed Mabry and Team Triumph Texas minus David Wade, (aka Packer who has been ill) arrived this afternoon at Wendover for World of Speed . They will go through tech inspection tomorrow and start racing on Wednesday. Temperatures are in the mid 70's with no wind. Salt conditions and weather forecast look execllent for the event.

They will run three bikes.
601 Powered by two Triumph Trident engines.
604 Powered by a single modern Triumph 1,000cc Triple.
605 Powered by a single 1970 Triumph Trident engine.

Here is an update on the Mabry team.......not good!

"Ed Mabry brought three bikes, and another that was in their Texas posse. Two of Ed's bikes broke, and the worst was the 605 Blue Triumph bike which had a fire causing burns on the rider. One of his three survived the week, and that is because it was being used for parts to fix the other bikes."
