As of June production, BMW will have a low suspension option (499), and a low seat option (774) for the F800 series.

Standard........32.3 inch

Low seat OR low suspension......31.1 inch

Low seat AND low suspension.....29.9 inch

A person with something like a 25 inch inseam could flat foot a F800 with both options.

This in a bike with more RWHP, more torque and lighter than the R1150R, something definitely to think about.

Taking orders now..........:pot:

Finally, a BMW for dwarfs. Not that anybody we know here would fall into that category....

HHHEEEEYYYYYYY.....I resemble that remark....I AM 5"7" ya know, not quite a dwarf, but too damn close for comfort.

I'm like a Porsche Carrera...low to the ground and fast.

You tall guys are killing me.

Maybe I resemble that remark even more Jamming..........I'm 5 foot 6 and a half !!

But I seem to handle my R1150R no problem (but I definitely can't flat foot it !).

I like the F800 low options though Dean - I wish other ranges would come out with similar lower options for short @rses like me (read 1200GS....).

Dean, I test rode the S and the ST in San Antonio last week and found the motor outstanding - lots of instant power - the ergonomics of both bikes were not for me - have you any information on a 800GS?

Oh goodie, so in a year or two, after someone has a GS all fixed up with all the goodies and is ready to sell, have them contact me :-) My GS-riding buddies are screaming about the abuse I give my RT trying to use it as a GS. But I just can't bring my self to go down to a F650 (size does matter to me :-). The 800 will be just right and several hundred pounds less weight!

I finally got over my prejudice and test rode an F800S (not from a dealer so I can really romped on it). I'm sorry, Dean, but that bike sucked. It's still undistinctive in characteristics. The engine has decent power, but the brakes and the suspensions are total crap. Maybe with an Ohlins rear shock and Race Tech's cartridge emulators up front for the forks, it'll be better. But I am at a loss as to how to improve on the brakes short of replacing the whole front system with a good unit from Brembo.

So, it's not a sport bike, I understand that. But with that price, it should have came with better suspension bits and better brakes.
