Welcome to Capt. Blackadder's son, who arrived on December 15th. I think the date is close enough to be called "The Best Christmas Present - EVER":eusa_clap:
I'm sure the proud father will be posting pictures so we can all admire.
Seriously Baldor, that is wonderful news. I do hope you and your wife enjoy this experience as much as we did with our child. :)

Congrats Cap'n on your new crewmate!
I have two daughters (eldest turning 18 in March, youngest is 14) but would've loved a son. With sons you only have one dick to worry about. With daughters, you have every dick to worry about! (yeah I know its an old line, but I like it!).
Come to think it, my twin brother has two sons. I have two daughters. Does that make me the effeminate twin?
But enough of that nonsense!
I am sure that Captain Blackadder is looking forward to the day when he can share motorcycling with his son!

Captain,
Congrats. It is a great ride, I tell you. And re the kids and motorcycle thing: my parents were adamantly against anything that resembled a motorcycle when I was a kid. Did it stop me from riding them when I could sneak it? No.
When my son asked a few times at 7 years old if he could have a motorcycle, I said "I have been waiting all my life to say yes." So he got a Suzuki Jr 50 and I got a dirt bike and he and I go out and make noise together in the summer. It is a hoot. And it is theoretically safer than him riding his bicycle down the neighborhood street if you ask me.
Go change some diapers, man. Time's a wastin' .
Congrats.

Thanks for the good wishes, boys! It's been a lot of work so far taking care of the smallest family member, but nevertheless an absolute hoot. I don't care how often he wakes me up during the night or how hard he cries when things aren't right... one contented smile and all is forgiven. :055:
Here's the cute little bugger, sound asleep in his car seat:

Cap't,
That kid is sure cute. And I think alot of newborns are pretty wierd looking, but only every once in a while one looks that good.
Bones,
That dirt biking thing with the kid is just tits ain't it? Of course I'm not sure how liberal I'll be if/when he wants to ride street bikes.

Capain,
Indeed, he is a cute little one. When he starts talking to you and calling you Dad, it is the coolest thing in the world.
Rob,
Agreed on both the dirt bike and street riding issues. As long as we do the dirt bike thing together, it seems reasonable . The street brings all of one's worst fears about what can happen to your child to light.
I have had a fantasy about heading out with my son (when is a bit older) on the bike and taking off for a week of exploring back roads. Just a father and son trip on the motorcycle. But I don't know that it is something I will ultimately feel comfortable with. Why I don't have the same concerns about me doing the same type of ride is puzzling, but I am sure you understand how we rationalize those things. I do think the time spent doing a trip like that would create lifetime memories for both of us. Will have to think about it.
Captain...enjoy the ride!:041:
