Our House Poet is at it again! Good stuff, funny and it's cool to see our Bros writing, and being written about.

I can muck through prose & tech writing, but poetry gives me fits and I can't write it, but I wanted to honor Bill with something, so here goes:

To Bill...
There was an old hermit named Bill,
who lived in a cave on the hill.
He wrote poems all day, drank whiskey all night,
and gave the old ladies a thrill.

Man, does *that* suck...!

OK, enough original "poetry", some classics instead...again for our Bill.

There was an old man from Boston,
who traded his Ford for an Austin.
He had room for his ass and a gallon of gas,
his balls hung out and he lost them!

Yeah, that's more like it...

There was an old woman from Cape Cod,
who thought all children were made by God.
But it wasn't the Almighty who lifted her nightie,
It was Roger the lodger by God!

Sweet...it cracks the boys up at the Mensa meetings!

OK, OK, I know everyone wants another original! Here's a link to one with pics, from a 2005 Texas Hill Country Ride with some of my Bros from our classic Brit & Euro club. I know you won't know the guys in here (except for one), but just use your imaginations:

Oh, how we must suffer for our art...

Dave!

Thanks for the tribute.... I read your post and was about to say, "Don't give up your day job". But two things happened:

First I remembered you already DID give up your day job,

and secondly,

I read the linked poem. Good stuff, really good stuff.

[Oh yeah, your post reminds me. One of these days I'll post a limerick or two I've penned. But I'll have to wait until after the little ones are in bed.]
