Nick and I got up Easter morning. It was chilly, above freezing but not out of the 30's.

We needed to get Nick's bike ready to pass his Maryland State inspection. We think all we need to do was to add a license plate light and put reflectors on both sides.

We removed the after market eliminator on the bike, and replaced it with the stock rear fender after fishing the wires out of the tailpiece. Worked just fine and doesn't even look too bad. We removed the stock turn signals from the rear fender because the previous owner had installed an after market integrator which allows the tail lights to function as turn signals.

Nick snapped me right before we bundled up to ride off:

We had a nice ride out to the Capital Beltway from Great Falls, Virgina, on some twisty bits of road, then we took the inner loop of the beltway a little over of a quarter of the way around, to College Park, Maryland. Nick took me to a real cool little place right next to the U of Maryland campus called "College Perk". It's a sort of run down, big old house operated by students who live upstairs and run a 24 hour coffeehouse downstairs. They have a great Sunday brunch menu.

Nick ordered Salmon and eggs - it looked great! toasted french bread with dill-butter, great fried spuds, tomatos and feta cheese, eggs, and lots of big pieces of smoked salmon. I caught him about halfway through his meal:

I had this unappetizing looking bowl of goop which was actually quite good. Some exotic fruit blended into a smoothie with soy milk, with a little bit of rolled oats and some banana slices (I've been eating better the last couple of months - or else I would have been all over the Eggs Benedict:

Well, that's about it - not too many pics. It was cold so we rode back to Nick's place in I went on back around the beltway to Northern Virginia. The bikes ran great and we got to spend some time together on the nice but chilly holiday morning.

Hope you all had a nice day as well! :ylsuper:

Deej -

We had a "coating" of snow Friday night. I rode around on Saturday and it was cold but the snow was gone. Today there were dry, clear, and cold conditions. The Duc seemed to work just fine. We compensated tot the conditions when checking tire pressures before the ride, but other than that it was a nice day to ride.

I had my hand warmer grips on the second level and was still chilly. Nick must have been really cold, but the "high" of riding his new dream bike was enough to keep him out on the road, at least for a little while, in the cold.

Hey Bob... Isn't there just something special about having a great meal, after a great ride, with great family...

30s... Brrr... hate that wet, then freeze again, ice-obstacle course...

Close to 80 here today... but no ride... Other issues took priority...

Roger on that Roger!!! Breakfast must include pork products. Side bacon done up real crispy or peamealed back bacon. At least 2 eggs, preferably omlet style with onions, green pepper, mushrooms. Whole wheat toast slathered in butter. And a couple of gallons of coffee.

Mind you, Nick's salmon sure sounded plenty adequate too!

Bob - sounds like you only had the desert and not the whole breakfast!!!
