I came across this little list generator on another forum...looks like it could be pretty handy!

Pretty interesting list... I can clearly see the scene in my mind......
Hey, Judy, I'm going out on the bike. Do you know where we keep the "safe sex stuff"?
<sounds of pummeling, cries of anguish, pleas for mercy, whimpering, then silence>
To the left the soft glow of the reflection of a motorcycle set on fire.
Gee, Dave, thanks. But I'll stick with tire pressure, oil and go.

I'm a keep it simple guy, when I get back from a Rally or bike camping trip, I clean it, pack it in the Helen 2 wheels bags and put in a plastic can for the next time. That way next trip I grab and go.
My tools and all for the bike are ALWAYS on the bike. I just take some extra oil in an oiljug from here http://www.bestrestproducts.com/celestia/products/oiljugs/
I grab my riding gear, extra clothes, and my personal kit is always ready, grab and go. If I forget something and need it, I'll buy it on the road.

I here ya' guys...I've never used check lists and travel *very* light.
But, I'm preparing for some dual sport rides, one of which lasts 3 weeks and I don't want to be broken down on a mountain top in Idaho, in the middle of the night, in the rain, wishing I had packed the "safe sex stuff"!
Bob, I am not a pilot, I just jumped out of the planes. Landing in those things is dangerous...
