Is there a specific age when bikes become vintage?

Good question Mr. Moon.
I'm sure the large groups like The Antique American Motorcycle Club have very specific designations for "vintage" and other age categories for old bikes, see:
http://www.antiquemotorcycle.org/

But I've noticed in a lot of shows & auctions around the country it's pretty loose...vintage, classic, antique have become almost interchangeable. "Vintage" is pretty much whatever the guy who sets up the classes says it is. You even see hybrids like "modern classic" showing up. Throw in designations like "pre-war", "pre-unit", "Japanese Classic/vintage/antique" and it really gets fuzzy.

I'm pretty much out of the old bike scene now (still love 'em), but if you don't get better, more specific answers here, just Google around a bit, or send 'em an email at the Antique Club website.

What kind of bikes to you have?

Or you could go to the source of all knowledge, e-bay. You'll find terms like vintage of classic thrown around whenever it would increase the value of what is actually a "beater". :umph:
