Just curious...

Some time ago there were some members clamoring for some sort of "Writer's Corner", right?

Well, if memory serves our own Promethean (Abhijeet) went to a considerable amount of trouble to set up a blog area just for such a "Writer's Corner"... IIRC he asked that those interested in such an area and blog please take the time to try it out so he could get some input on any adjustments, tweaks, etc. it might need.

Wondering what ever came of that???

Did you get your test subjects, Abhijeet? Did anyone take you up on your setting up the area?

Just wondering...

Cheers!

Allan (Dallara)

Allan -
You're right, that would be me...back in May/June I think.
Sorry if it came off as "clamoring" but a number of us "back in the day" of the old board and planning this one were interested in having a "Writer's Forum" and I was ready & willing to help Abhijeet any way I could.

But...I got in a little over my head time-wise, in providing that help, as Abhijeet was WAY busy with higher priority task to get us up & running well for a while, and when he found a time slot, well...

My boss left the company right after that which caused all sorts of chaos for a while including a re-org and a different job for me, on the parent Tucker Rocky side, helping the new First Gear organization in developing a warranty & repair plan & procedures, and setting up centers for both minor warranty & major "customer accommodation" repairs.

Plus a 14 day business trip, plus some vacation time. And retirement planning, designing the new house, water well & windmill systems, trips to Amarillo, arranging for "medical inconveniences" to be cleared up before retirement, a great trip to The Big Bend, and getting my 3"old age" bikes bought, modified and "maintained ahead" for the time coming when I have no bike maintenance & mod time during the house construction.

Still ahead are more Amarillo trips, digging the well & installing the windmill, and two minor surgeries & recuperations plus attendant doc visits. Then Christmas.

This is way too much info I realize, but I really don't want Abhijeet and the other members to think I was just blowing this off...or had lost my "long term commitment" to our Cafe' Writer's Forum. I haven't, but it and a number of other things have moved to my personal "back burner", at least for now.

I should have posted this before but kept thinking I would be able to try out the blog site...didn't happen. I appreciate the nudge.

I hope, but can't promise I will have time while I am at home following the surgeries to work on this...Abhijeet, I will be in touch.

We have real writing & story telling talent on here and I look forward to us having a nice section to hang out in and read some great Moto-Lit! :eusa_clap:

Darth,
I never understood why you waited until retirement to have that vasectomy. Probably worth waiting for, though.

Ah yes, the "Texas Vasectomy"...somewhat painful, very inexpensive, totally reliable.

The Doctor hands the patient a large Cherry Bomb firecracker, then lights the fuse as he instructs the patient to count rapidly to 10 before throwing it as far away as he can.
The patient naturally wedges the Cherry Bomb in his crotch to free up all 10 fingers, then begins to count on them...1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6- BLAM!!
Instant vasectomy.

This is actually a Christmas present from Betty...she's getting me that and a GPS.
Bones, would you be available for a little "repair work" about that time? Between the effects of the vasectomy and those from her present from last year, I'll need a little work.
Last year she gave me a penis reduction surgery for Christmas, something I'd dreamed of for years!
The Doc removed the 4 inch section from the middle as planned, then re-joined the front part to the rear. It looks fine now and the rear part "works" but the front part doesn't...can you help with that? :icon_cry:

too bad the microscopic chunk was installed backwards! I got one right after my second son was announced, and it's been great. Except for that a year later my wife had a hysterectomy, and I've never forgiven her for putting me through that angst for nil. Somehow she didn't understand my reasoning and I was left high and dry for a month, out in the barn with my machinery. One caveat, Dave; stay off the slender little bugger for a week at least; I went skiing right from the doc's office and my "boys" turned into unhappy chunks the size of Pamela Anderson's boobies. Unhappy, did I say? Good luck, and better late than never, I always say.
And Dave,
I'm pretty sure Bones chose facial surgery so he didn't have to deal with "items" like your latter day circumcision. Best wishes; no, really.
