Iceland must be a pretty cool place to be a gearhead...

And they don't walk on water there, but they do drive their Jeeps on it. Oh, and their snowmobiles, too...

...reminds me of the joke about the three buddies - Tom, Dick and Harry - out fishing.

They are quietly fishing in their boat when Tom hooks a big lunker. As he is fighting the fish, he loses his balance and falls in the water. He disappears below the surface as the fish drags him down.

Like a cobra, Dick dives into the water to rescue Tom. Harry waits nervously for a minute for Tom and Dick to surface and just as he was fearing the worst, Dick surfaces and heaves a body into the boat.

In an instant, Harry is delivering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. As Dick climbs into the boat, Harry looks up and says:

"I don't remember Tom having such bad breath."

To which Dick replied:

"That's okay, I don't remember Tom wearing a snowmobile suit."

There is a lake here in Ontario - Lake Scugog - that must see at least 2-3 deaths per year with snowmobilers going through the ice (or hitting the open water). I wonder how many jeep enthusiasts are down there?

Yeah, we're, um... "different." I've been to several of these crazy competitions back home in the old country, and they're HUGE fun for the whole family. Rowdy, rompin', nitrous-snortin' V-8 leviathans absolutely rocketing up completely impossible trails, and across rivers and lakes as well. Makes you think that the laws of physics can be, if not broken outright, at least bent and negotiated to the point of total disbelief. :003:
