I finally installed the new windshield.
I agree with Allan and whoever's installed it before.....getting the mounting bracket on the bike involves quite a bit. I had to cut the zipties holding some wires to the bracket and detach the tach cable before I could get it on. That alone took about 20 minutes of juggling and a bit of force.
Once the bracket is where you want it, it's dead easy to assemble. It took me about an hour and 20 minutes to do the entire job.
A couple of ratchet extensions make the job of getting the screws off easier.
I have to find the part number for a couple of screws that I'm missing (probably the previous owner took them off for some reason) next to the long bolt that holds the headlight bracket flush to the fork bridge. Even without those screws, the new windshield looks marvelous...solid. There is a minor vibration at idle due to the slight flex in the windshield material. Other than that, I'd have to take it out on the highway to see how it behaves.
Thanks Allan for the help.
