Roehr (I hope it's pronounced ROAR)
...using the HD revolution engine.

Here it mentions the "Highland" V-twin - dunno what that is.
this seems to be an older, outdated page

Looks like they've been trying to do this for a while now.....
a 2stroke V-twin 500cc.....sounds familiar.....

One can only hope...that this company can make a go of it. I'd really like to see the final design, I'm with DJ regarding the look of the front end in the pics. And, of course, the price per unit. I hope they get the financing they need. It is soooooo hard to survive in the bike manufacturing business, even if you have brand name recognition like Norton or Indian...If they're using the Revo engine, maybe Harley will eventually buy them up like they did Buell...

Here we go again...
At least they haven't claimed they were going MotoGP racing with it! :30802983-Ti:
Their 500cc two-stroke would have no doubt been cooler than canned beer... Even the Highland-powered 1000 would have been a lot of fun to ride despite the goofy looking front end...
But a bike powered by a 1200cc H-D engine being a "sportbike that can compete with the worlds best in street bike performance..." PUH-Leeze! At least the Roehr guys are smart enough to be trying with the V-Rod Revolution engine. Though that engine is way too heavy to truly make a competitive superbike, at least it's not trying to make a Sportster engine do sportbike duty - i.e. trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
Oh, well... Call me when they are at your local dealer's.
BTW, for those of you unfamiliar with Highland...

Highland - nice! Bad location for the exhaust pipe, though.
Is this the 450, or the 950?? The SM racer is definitely the 450.

They all begin looking the same after awhile; how could they not. Sort of makes you appreciate the designs brought to the market by some of the Italian factories. Ohlins fork, similar swingarm, recognizable plastic, undertail 916-esque pipe, familiar wheels, hidden engine; I'd definitely opt for an already proven mount, although I applaud their cohones for being enthused enough to enter the fray.
I wonder how that HD engine compares with it's counterparts, such as Ducati, Honda, Aprilia, KTM?

Looks like some fish from a Walt Disney movie... :hahaha:
As for Highland's...
Yes, Collyer,
Highland's SM racer is a 450cc single. They do offer a version of their dual-purpose 1000 with Supermoto/Supermotard wheels, tires, and brakes, though. That's the bottom picture above.
The Highland I would love to have is this one, though...

The Highland DT-750, which is street legal in other countries... But not in the USA, of course. Still, I'd love to have one...
750cc
85 HP
84 Nm of torque
290 lbs.
Not too bad.
Of course, you can get this completely off-road model...

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Would that be fun to ride, or what?
Cheers!

So they're going to try to use the Porsche designed liquid cooled V-twin? That'd be interesting to see since that Erik Buell said that the Revolution engine is too heavy for him to put in a sport bike.
