View Full Version : I don't like coffee

As a Fire Dept. Paramedic for 13 years I'm amazed that I never developed a taste for coffee, since coffee is a fire dept. staple. I imagine I could have developed a taste for the stuff, if I could have choked it down, but I couldn't.

So, what does this have to do with anything? It has to do with coffee, duh, and I wanted to initiate this 'non-motorcycling' area with something truly non-motorcycling, although, one could wonder why this website is so coffee obsessed if coffee has nothing to do with motorcyling? One could also wonder about other things, like why so many people will pay so much for a cup of coffee at Starbucks when, from by observation, Starbucks often disappoints the frequent coffee drinker by making coffee that is sometimes 'delicious' and sometimes 'crap'. Unlike McDonalds, that some could argue is quite consistantly crap. Although, I do like an occassional filet-O-fish.

Now, back to coffee... I hate it.

I also don't like beer, which automatically makes me a weirdo in the motorcyling community. Although, I've seen enough of those in this motorcyling 'community' to realize THEY are most likely the weirdos, not me.

Ok, I'll admit it, I was bored, which is why this goes on and on without much of a point, and, it's always amazing to me that many, if not most, people will keep reading such blather, thinking there will be some redeaming quality sooner or later, which, in this case, is not true.

P.S. I make liberal use of the comma. I like commas.

Now, back to your regular non-motorcycle related programming...

P.S. #2 This topic did indeed have 'some' motorcycle relatedness, so I imagine I've put it in the wrong category, sorry.

Every morning, I stumble over to the wood burning stove, stoke it up to start the warming of the house, yesterday it was a rousing 3 F outside just before the sunrise, cozy inside however. Next I stumble over to the kitchen, pour fresh French Roast coffe beans into the grinder, start the grinder....oh that fantastic smell...pour boiling water over the fresh grounds and before you know it, a steaming pot of the freshest coffee. By then the wood stove is roaring, Mz Pam is sitting up in bed. I pour our steaming giant cups of coffee and watch the suns first hints of light in the eastern sky. Life is good, not a sound other than the early band of Cyotes yiping on their hunt for prey, no other lights other than the dimming of millions of stars as the sun peaks over the far mountain.

I realize how tough this might seem to others, but Mz Pam and I will continue thru this sacrafice and struggle so that others can live happily in in the midsts of their crowdwd, smoggy, loud, smelley.....well you know what I mean....cities.

Have no fear or qualms.........Mz Pam and I will continue the good fight. :)

I'm having a coffee-flavored German beer right now, and it's an Uber-drink!!!

And, as a motorcyclist, I tend to stay away from motorcycle people, because they scare me. And not just they way they "ride", either.

why does this seem like such a cool city bike?

:) That's funny! I think to be really manly one should drink a big glass of coke with a shot of expresso and stalk of celery in it!

Dean - nice coffee prose! If I hadn't already stopped for coffee with the wife and son this afternoon, I would have jumped up to make a pot. :)

Dean,
You need to try to get Kenya AA beans. Caribou Coffee has the best in my opinion. www.cariboucoffee.com

My absolute favorite.
