Anyone watch the world superbikes yesterday from Assen.

It was pissing down...non stop crashes...I think you just had to finish to make it onto the podium..:003:

Great race.

Yeah, I watched it DJ. It amazes me that those guys can see where they are going if they aren't in front. It was a good one for the British fans...they are used to that kind of weather though!

It WAS a good day for us! We've waited FAR too long for Chris Walker to win one!
Without a doubt Walker is one of the nicest, most down to earth guys you'll ever meet. One of that rare breed who still rides on the street as well as on the track. He had a BSA Lightning Clubman (a '66 I think) and used to belong to the BSA Owners club.
We're celebrating bigstyle!!!!!!!!!

Hey Simon...did you see that dvd called 'The Street the Track and the Open Road'...Chris did very well in that didn't he.

Here's another pic from the race last weekend...some of them should have fitted knobbies..:003:

Here's Chris Walker on his green machine...geees it pays to be in front...but then look at how many fell while way out in front..Haga must be kicking himself.

Yes I have "A street, a track an open road". Didn't realise it had made it as far as Aus though!
If you look at the two pics above again you'll see Walker in the gravel trap on the first corner of the first lap having been "punted" off by an unknown assailant.
He was 3 seconds a lap faster than anyone as he rode through the field. Certainly a lot of people fell, but as Barry Sheene was prone to say "To finish first, first you have to finish".
I WAS sorry for Haga though, must have been his worst nightmare come true! But, as ever with racing, there's always next weekend.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when Haga-san fell. He seemed to have things under control. Chris Walker was superb. He deserved the win.

DJ, in this part of the country, we might say that it was raining "like a cow pissin' on a flat rock". Tough conditions, for sure!
