Does that mean the stock gearing/fairing/exhaust etc?
If the bike is "stone" stock, that's effing impressive.

So does this mean the self-imposed limit of 200 km/h is going to be history soon? Good grief, the roads in the western US will be chock full of rockets...

Thanks Bill.
So..177mph for the BMW1200...and 188mph for the MV1000....I would have thought a Busa would do that easy.

We never ran any stock production classes and I don't have a rulebook here, so I can't say for sure but I think it pretty much means what it says, but they do allow "tuning" changes like tires, gearing, blueprinting, removal of mirrors, etc. And all the racing tricks known to man.
After a record they check for "doping" of fuel and displacement but I'm not sure if they do internal checks on prod's. They don't on the stuff we run 'cause it's all homebrew hotrod anyway.
But anything built by Eraldo Ferracci and Bob Leppan (former world record holder in Triumph streamliners) is bound to be a bit "creative" with the rules.
As Dennis Manning says, there is a reason they make rulebooks in softback and not hardbound!
Regardless, it is VERY impressive! A stock Busa usually runs in the mid-160's at Bonneville.
The last time I was there, 2 of them ran 166...much to their rider's surprise.
Welcome to Bonneville, bubba!

The K1200S that ran at Bonneville was bone stock with the exception of a Remus Titanium exhaust. I was there and helped out. The same bike ran 169 two up. It is not possible at this time to change the gearing or the rev limiter. The bike was limited to its top speed by the revlimiter. The guys made a quick run to Salt Lake and mounted a slightly larger diameter tire which added about 5 or 6 MPH to the top speed.
When I ran my ST at the same time, again the revlimiter in 6th and with the worn tire at the time gave me 144 on the salt. With a new stock size, we run about 147-8 MPH.
This is the problem with racing the R1200S, with a limited variation in final drive ratios. We think that we can get in the mid to high 160's with the R1200S.
