You guys are boring. It's a 1977 Low Rider. Very cool looking bike. And back in 1977, when I was racing little Bultacos and Huskies and whatever wlse I could ge my hands on at an illegal dirt track, this was one of my dream bikes (along with the CB750Four),

That is not an antique Harley - it a state of the art paint shaker - I owned one.

American Machine and Foundry Harley???
I imagine that it is a classic, but an AMF Harley??? Must have taken some tender and loving care to get it to the 21st century all of a piece...

And a pool table! Harley's current success, baffling as it is to many, is the direct result of the purchase (buyout) of the company by some very savvy motorcyclists who turned the whole thing around. At least that is the public story.

I wonder if this type of thing will happen to GM one day. It is a good lesson in business. A famous, or even infamous name such as HD was in 1982, carries a lot of wiegtht in the marketing world.
As for this bike in particular making it into the 21st century, this can be credited to the vast aftermarket support that HD enjoys. A guy can replace damn near anything on an old HD with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Jeff,
It is true that an old bike, the internet, and a credit card is an unbeatable combination! But, given the poor quality of Harleys in the late seventies, early eighties, it must be a labor of love. Especially if it is a one owner.
I've been waiting for someone to speak up here, but it looks like that's not going to happen.
I believe this is a mid 70"s FLH, not a Low Rider. At least, the complete front end assembly, including front tire & wheel are from a FLH. The rear fender is FLH. I believe the gas tank & dash assembly are FLH.
In fact, I believe this whole bike is a stripped down FLH.
But, HEY, what do I know?

Yep...
I do believe you be right, Arby. But hell, I didn't want anybody to think I knew nothing about no Harley's.
BTW, here's a 1977 Low Rider:
Cheers!

Hey - watch it. Mickey is my brother-in-law, and he'll... he'll.... he'll drool on you if you're not careful. Only if you're in Maimi, though.
He's got an unbelievable collection of H-D's, old/new/chopped/bobbed.
We used to run up/down PCH in the '80s, when I was just a stupid rocker (and he was actually working). He wore dainese leathers in that stupid movie - kept 'em, too.

Actually the jacket he wore in that movie was made by Z Custom Leathers. Apparently this style of jacket is quite popular with some of the Harley crowds (imagine that). Z Custom makes batches of these jackets for Bartell Harley-Davidson in Marina Del Rey all the time.
The flick wasn't too bad. Good shooting actions.:eusa_clap:

Hey -
I just googled "1978 harley FLH" and I get back "ElectraGlide" and :Shovelhead" - neither of which look like the bike I photograped in the first post here - but the picture Allan posted of a 78 Low Rider looks just like it.
WTF?
Bob
If that's a Low Rider you posted a picture of, it has a lot of FLH parts bolted on it.
That's a complete dresser frontend assembly, and the rear fender is off a dresser as well.
I still think it's a stripped down FLH.
