That is really nice DJ ! If that is anything how it's going to look I will definitely have to consider trading my R in for the new model (I wonder what my wife is going to say ??!).
I really like the way the muffler is out of the way, under/to the side of the seat, leaving the full view of "swingarm-less" rear wheel (exactly what I wanted to achieve by removing the muffler on my current R and replacing it with the short pipe as per your excellent instructions on the other board - thanks, once again !).
The only thing that concerns me - is it my imagination or does that seat height look a lot taller than our current model R ? If so, this may be a problem for me and my f#(&!ng short legs !

Attribution, DJ. That's a photoshop job by HugoVW over on the Pelican Parts R1100S board, I think.
I like it too. As well as some of the other variants in the original thread.

It's interesting that so many of the guys on that forum are now expressing interest in a 1200R. BMW have lost some of their core following for the S models by "sharpening the focus" as they have. I'm not saying it has been a mistake — time will tell — but it certainly has caused some amount of shuffling in the ranks of the faithful.
Has anyone heard anything about a time frame for release of a 1200R? Someone over on that board says Spring of 2007. I'm don't think I can wait that long.

From what I understand, the R1200R will be released somewhere in the same time frame as the R1200S.

I think we'll start seeing spy photos in either February or March, and the bike will be shown either late summer or at the Frankfurt show in October. The US probably won't get the bike until this time next year. Just an edumicated guess on my part.
I think Dean means in the same sequence of time, because the S will be here anytime now....
