So far, so good. KRJR was the hot stuff yesterday, but the spread is tight at the front. All the 'mericans here want to see Hayden, Roberts or Edwards win, of course. I've not talked with any folks from other countries, but I'd bet they'd feel differently. Yesterday, when they lit up for practice all the short hairs on my body stood up and took notice. There is nothing like a GP bike on song.

Found out the shutter on my digital camera is not fast enough to catch Randy Mamola and luggage whip by at speed. He was coming down the straight headed for turn 4 and would lift the front end at exactly the same place every time. What a guy.

Yesterday was warm after the fog burned off. The breezes weren't kissing the track like they did last year. No fog this morning and I figure 90+ at the track today. Final qualifying is from 2:00 to 3:00 this afternoon. The track has been resurfaced, but is reported to be "bumpy". I'm assuming the job went to the lowest bidder...

Been hanging with Allan. Met EdK yesterday. Will try Will today.

I do truely wish all of you could be here. This is great. And you all deserve to see it.

We'll have to settle for the tube.
It's hot as hell here so the Peckerheads migrated indoors last night and watched "The Doctor, the Texas Tornado and the Kentucky Kid" and several other M-GP shorts, including last week's race, so we're all stoked too!
You guys have a great time...and wave if you see a camera.
Did you try "panning" (tracking) with your digital? Should work for the speedy stuff.
Tell all the Cafe Bros "Howdy from Texas"...and Donna & Alex too, of course!

That's it, then - DJ's making breakfast. Kippers for me.

Us Yanks are lucky to get the 1hr SpeedTV telecast (like all the EuroGPs), so we never see qualifying on the tube.

Just checking how Westy is going...what the!...no 125's or 250's again...what's the story there...come on..you either do it right or not do it at all.

The 125 and 250 guys must be so piised off that they don't get to race at Laguna.

btw....GO CASEY!!!!....:flamin_dj: :flamin_dj: :flamin_dj: :flamin_dj: :flamin_dj:

This is so bad. The reader board was stuck with Hayden qualifying first...

On the other hand,

Aussie, Aussie, Oy, Oy, Oy!!!!

The bowl was just HOT today. 95+ and very little breeze until later in the afternoon, just after qualifying. Around noon, with the sun at its highest, finding a scrap of shade was very difficult. The crowd was huge. But well behaved, 'cept for the folks that camped in our seats during the AMA Xtreme race. I'm pretty jaded and didn't find it interesting, much. Donna claims she saw Rossi and Pedrosa drive by us early in the morning in a big yellow Hummer.

We've been camping out on Ducati Island, sitting under the bleachers in the shade. I've got a bunch of Ducati pics. And others. No BMW presence, but I'm not sure that makes any difference. Allan discovered the MotoCyzyscz (or however it's spelled tent but we're gonna have to cruise by it again tomorrow.

Hanging with Allan has been great. Full of stories, he is.

I heard that ABC is delaying the race a week. I don't know if that's true, but SpeedTV will have the race tomorrow live and probably again next Tuesday at around 10:00 am Pacific

Race time is 2:00 PM Pacific tomorrow. Find a sportsbar with cable and brow beat them into tuning in to SpeedTV. Have a brew and watch this race. We met some folks riding down from Kalama, Washington. The one guy said, this is going to be a "barn burner" and I hope he was right.

Best to all you folks.

Stay up late and watch it live on the good old BBC.
I think it would be brilliant if either Kenny Roberts or Colin Edwards wins for you guys. Nope, I wouldn't mind that at all.
Fingers crossed for a close, exiting race.
Si.
