On 07/15/06 I'm going to be ridding over Kebler Pass located on CR12 between Paonia, CO and Crested Butte, CO
(See Map Below)

Question is; has anyone been over this pass before..? I'm ridding my K-Bike and I'm concerned about the road condition. I've ridden on gravel before, but never at 10,000 Ft above sea level.

Thanks for the help...

Yup - Mike, it should be no problem for you. That's an unpaved road, burt there are literally motorhomes and full-size SUV's pulling trailers over it.

Mike, you making it to the Colorado rally in Paonia July 13-16? If you weren’t planning on it you’ve got the right weekend.

Looks like a nice weekend planed out, I love that day 2 ride!
Five or six of us (sixth waiting on last minute final drive parts from the old country:eusa_pray:) are leaving at 7am 7/13/06 for the long way around to Paonia. I'll be riding a nearly neked red Beakster during the day and hanging out around the beer stand at night. I'll keep an eye out for the owner of a zebra striped KRS.

Mike - you can easily get much further than Cortez the first day - Silverton is only about 2 more hours up the road, Ouray not much further than that. Cortez is okay but pretty boring compared to what lies beyond.

Actually, if you get an early start, you can make it all the way to Paonia without busting too much of a nut - I have done that ride in a day and had daylight to spare.
