Dad turned 90 this year and so Jan and I decided to take the ferry to Sydney and drive a 1,000 miles further North to Emu Park to share a beer or two with him and Mum.

We have returned from our wanderings of over 10,000 km from Tasmania, Australia’s Island State, to Emu Park in central Queensland. It was good to catch up with Mum and Dad again. Although we are in contact by phone, there is nothing like sitting on their verandah overlooking the dozens of islands that form the Southern extremity of The Great Barrier Reef enjoying a tropical Queensland breakfast of Custard Apple, Pawpaw, Mango and fresh reef fish cooked only the way Mothers know how to.
It's tough work my friends, but someone has to do it..

Cheers,

JQ

That's great Tassie!
We have to treasure those Mums & Dads while we have them.
Aren't you glad they have such a beautiful place to spend their remaining time?

Now see... that's the kind of filial devotion to make a parent proud. Good on ya, mate!
