What a great race for second place.

The BBC were forced to apologise to viewers because in the live post race interviews Mat Roberts said "Valentino, you've enjoyed some great victories here but surely today 2nd place must feel as good as a win?" To which he replied "F**k yes!"
BBC presenter Suzzi Perry said "Vale is just so passionate, so Italian and that's why we love him".
Astonishing ride from Vale, fractured wrist and all. "Save" of the day was Melandri's front end wash out at Macleans though. He crashed, but somehow never hit the ground! Watch out for it on the replays.
Two weeks 'till the next round, can't wait.

Geez, I thought Dani Pedrosa's save when he tried to go inside of Marco and got almost totally sideways was unbelievable.

All in all, a very interesting race.

George, I was amazed also as Pedrosa, magically pulled out of what started to be a high-side! I kept backing-up my DVR... Lets see that again... How'd he do that!!!

I wonder just how many seconds ahead Pedrosa might have been at the end if he'd not had the double head shake and almost high-side? As it was he was better than 6.5+ seconds ahead at the end of the race. Rossi's performance was spectacular, coming from so far back on the grid and ending up second. Passing, being passed and then just passing again. It doesn't pay to run even the slightest bit wide when the Doctor is around.

But Pedrosa deserves all the glory. He may take it in spades. Hayden is still ahead in points, but only a win or so ahead of Pedrosa. Great season! The countdown for Monterey has begun...

Some more Donington pics...

This one I'm sure will disappoint DJ. It's Chris Vermeulen off-loading from the Suzuki...

Rossi and Melandri...

Melandri and Stoner not knowing they are about to be surgically altered back a position by the good Doctor...

Perhaps the nicest guy in all of pit lane... Loris Capirossi soldiered through, injuries and all. I don't know about you guys, but I would be really happy if this guy ended up with the World Championship...

I dunno' what Hayden is wheelying about... He got SMOKED in England... Maybe it's because he's leading the World Championship, but if he's not careful both Pedrosa and Rossi are gonna' blow right by him. He should be really glad that Laguna is coming up on the schedule...

Poor ol' Colin... Edwards couldn't seem to find all the handle in England, but I'm going to go out on a big, big, limb here and make a prediction... Colin Edwards - the "Texas Tornado" - will win his first MotoGP at the USGP at Laguna Seca on July 23, 2006.

Cheers!
