In Phoenix this weekend I signed up to teach the range portion of an MSF BRC. With the Summer temps in triple digits, we started early, at 0600, meaning I have to be there at 0500 for range and bike prep.
Anyway, I had one reentry rider, a gentleman, in my group. Exercise 15 involves stopping in a curve. After we coach the students, we send them across the range in a pattern which introduces real-world decision making processes as two paths cross each other.
So I coached this gentleman on his stop, then I said "cross over to the other side and try it in the other direction." He looked at me and said "you know - telling someone to cross over to the other side while they are riding a motorcycle is probably not the best thing to do."
I guess he's right.
