is what I am impressed with as we devour California,Nevada, Utah, Nebraska and Iowa. Keokuk tonight, after several Herraduras and harrassing a multitude of waitresses, one of whom had flaming red hair, one of my weaknesses. Life on the road carrying two motorcycles and five racing karts is...tedious. I find myself, mentally at least, ripped from the lush Expedition seats and thrown, Millennium Falcon-wise, back into the saddle of the KTM Big Black Hoon, tearing through the inimitable coastal back roads. Not a Sans-A-Belt guy within sight. In my dreams I masterfully throttle through the sharp ridges and gulches named for long forgotten woodsmen and settlers. Only a week more and I'm back burning expensive fuel to my Hoon Heart's content! Man, there's nothing compares with what WE DO, gents! Nothing fills the soul like the twist grip, clutch lever and shift lever.
And so, with camaraderie and warmth sent your way, I'll see you down the road again.

A little shout out from the Grateful Dead:

May the four winds blow you home again...

We departed Atlantic City, WY heading for Rawlings. A big thunder storm was at out backs motivating our progress. If the roads got wet we would be stuck where ever the storm caught us. It was 95 miles to the next paved road crossing the Great Divide Basin. The only man made structure we saw was a shepherds hooch made out of an old truck bed. Mile after mile of dirt, sand and gravel road with only cows and antelope on the move. A lone motorcycle headed north was the only other vehicle we saw. We stopped for a rest and all gazed in different directions taking in the solitude from horizon to horizon. When we reached the Mineral X highway we were all on a high speed high. We rode four abreast down the highway for 20 miles confident there was no other traffic.

A great memory that I can't wait to do again.

A little shout out from the Grateful Dead:

One of the guys racing is long time pal Tom, a master mechanic and former personal driver to Jerry garcia. We had dinner tonight in a genuine Italian restaurant right on the Big Muddy river, and all the guy could talk about was Rossi! He'd been ripped off last year at USGP, alas, and would attend no more. Tom regales us with stories of Dead life on the road. I'll pass along your kind regards.

I'd be honored. Tell him to "roll away, the dew..."

I warrant that Tom'll be rolling something tonight! I've never seen so many Republican lawbreakers in my life! One guy came to the track today with a Norton Manx he campaigns at AHRMA events. Getting into vintage karts because it's the most bang for our buck, apparently.
I'll have some interesting photos when I resume my technopeasant education under The Cafe's kind and informed tutelage upon my return to Hogwalla.
Rained all day, so we fixed the always broken ancient karts and shopped for more explosives. Spent a C note and are having too much fun. Wish you were all here with me. This is your kind of event.
Here am I on the cusp of two historical areas (Lincoln-Douglas debates and Samuel Clemens' berg of Hannibal, Mo. Going to the big party tonight where BS will be spun by old racing liars with considerable skill, but none will be a better representative than your own WW.
Mo' later, O my Brothers...
