OK, Took a quick trip to Steamboat Springs for the weekend... Erin (GF) was in a 24hr MTB race and I was tagging along. I'm not very good at stopping and taking pictures along the ride... usually having too much fun. :020: so, this is a lame report... just throwing it in there...

Along the way, a quick stop in North Park between Fort Collins and Steamboat, near Walden, CO.

At the Team Rio Grande HQ... me cuddling with dogs :037:

ofrogg -

Thanks for the great pics - Colorado is a beautiful state. Your bike looks great and between the riding and the moral support rendered to the MTB crowd, it look like you had a great weekend!

Tell me you rode through Horsetooth (or something like that) Reservoir, over looking Ft. Collins. I did bicycle tour (700+mi) through there, beginning in Steamboat, and there are some incredible 2 wheel roads out there.
Nice work on the MTB - I used race a few years back....

Yeah, I ride around Horsetooth Mountain Park at least once a week. Nice, local playground. No roads through it though... there are trails around the reservoir below, but they have a much more limited selection.

I rode a lap around the course sunday morning. dehydrated, hung over, and underslept... it didn't go so well.

That is one of the only sport touring bikes I know of that actually looks good with the hard cases in place. Looks like they hold quite a bit, too. Nice.

Generally no, although on some of the climbs I've been on recently it'd be nice to not be lugging the FS around... but for that matter I could ditch the gigantic Kendas, get some generally lighter wheels, and go back to normal grips instead of the ODI clamp ons I'm so in love with right now. Otherwise I'm really happy. Jamis XC Pro with a Fox TALAS RLC.
