By the way, this new board has a real good vibe. Keep up the good work. The principals under which it will be run are much more to my liking (democratic and equal instead of hierarchical and unequal).
A friend of mine runs a board with a lot of traffic. They have an interesting concept called Mob Rule:

Now given the nature of that board, having a Mob Rule makes sense. It probably makes less sense here... especially not now. But the thing I like about it is democratic. Unlike some other boards.

Hmmm! Mob rule sounds like an interesting means of social control. We have the possibility of rating posters and using ratings for social restraints. We're working for as much democracy as possible among the owners of this site. Not just majority rule but a true democracy where those in the minority on what ever issue will the heard and respected. It has been an interesting experiment so far.:thumbs_up::thumbs_up:

Yeah, Ron.
It has been an interesting experiment so far.
That's pretty much what de Tocqueville said, isn't it?

It is interesting. However, I am hoping that all that would be needed here would be a few "Hey, you are being an asshole. Settle down, would ya?" and have whatever issue it was just fade.
Unilateral deletion of posts, banning, inconsistent application of "rules" and threats elsewhere are what lead to the startup of this board. PLUS a lot of great ideas about how to make a Motorcycling board better.
So, let's hope we don't need any special technique other than calling someone on the carpet, if needed.

George,
Yup, that's about what he said in a nutshell.
Bones,
Well, the euphoria hasn't worn off yet, but I imagine we'll find out soon enough.

Ark,
Look at Religion and Politics. Nudging but not judging. We can control ourselves, I think.
