Scheduled at 2:00PM Pacific daylight time on SpeedTV. 5:00 PM for you Easterners and something in between for Mountain and Central. 'S looking interesting, Gibernau, Capirossi, Rossi, Hayden, and Nakano are the top five so far in qualifying. No spoilers here.

Rossi has a lot at stake here: he's at home, his team is based here, and he be need'n some points (unless he's going for the largest come-back in MotoGP history). Too bad Speed channel has the worst sound quality (about as bad as OLN) on satellite.
From what I've read (the race is over) - it is a stunning, paint swapping, bar banging affair. If you want to spoil it - go here:

this takes you directly to the results - if you click it, you'll KNOW.

"Too bad Speed channel has the worst sound quality..."
No keedink. If they would put as much into MotoGP as they do Build or Bust or Pinks, life might be better...you got to believe that there are as many MotoGP fans as there are ones who want to see some poor schmuck get verbally abused and bullied on B or B...Maybe?
I'm not touching that link you put up until the race is watched and over...I love the suspense.

I'll give ya' a hint...
Sete Gibernau didn't win.
No real big surprise in that, though...
Anybody else wonder how long it'll be before Sete disappears from MotoGP? Just goes to show ya' never to piss off a Voodoo Doctor! :082:

It's 2:05 and my wife is watching a chick flick on the only TV we have with cable... :eusa_wall:
Update: The movie ended at 20min after. Got to see that last 40 minutes of the race. :058: :038:
Sure looked like the Ducatis were not handling all that well. Lots of wiggling around. Makes me wonder if I really want one of their $65,000 replicas.
The Yamaha and Honda of Rossi & Hayden looked a lot more composed. Great race all the way around!

Great race!!! That was the worst high side I've seen in a while, Casey was so lucky.
Nicky Hayden is really coming into his own this is the best he's looked IMHO, but Rossi is still the greatest. Can't wait to see how this plays out.
Laugna will be awesome!

It was a great entertaining race. Rossi is able to pull just that extra out when needed! Nicky needs to get out of feeling sorry for himself - or that is how he comes accross to me.
Matt Mladin did a great job this WE in the AMA superbike - this pm's race from a bad start - he smoked every one!
A great day of racing!
Got back just in time to watch them - did a leasurly 350 mile coastal ride with lunch at Port O'Conner down closer to Allan.

Casey Stoner looked to be moving up, too bad about the high side but just amazing he poped up so fast. Lucky he didn't get hit by the flying bike.
The best MotoGP this year. Rossi is really fighting back.

That was a great race. Did I miss it or did they not have a good replay of Casey crash. All I saw was the one with the bike flying in the air.

"the Doctor's" splendid one-liner delivered to the post-race press conference:
'I do not think too many people went to sleep in front of their TVs this afternoon.
I think Mr Schumacher didn't know what to make of the fans, the passing, the passion of the Italian MotoGP.
Vale doesn't know that midget tossing is in bad taste, but Loris wasn't bothered any.

GGGGGGGGooooood Gawd! What a race! What a season! The only thing that could make this year better would be to have the money and time to become a MotoGP gypsy and follow all the races in person. I do so envy those Brits that do the commentary. I wonder how much they have to pay to get those jobs.
That Rossi dropped to fifth and managed to win the race is right up there with landing on the moon. The front group of six was so tight for most of the race that it could have been anybody's win. I couldn't believe it when Stoner's bike shot skyward and started tumbling. There weren't any good camera angles, so you couldn't tell what precipitated the crash. He looked like he was a bit shook when he got up, but at least he got up and was walking. Later on they had a shot of him and his crew and he did the thumbs up thing for the camera. He looks so young...
The Ducatis seem very strong this year. Both in MotoGP and elsewhere. Maybe that's why they want 65K for that streetable racer...The Hondas are pretty steady too, Pedrosa was pushing Hayden a lot, Rossi's Yamaha seems to finally have settled in but Edwards was way back by this crowd's standards.
After all the maneuvering, passing, lead swapping, coming up from behind only to be denied, elbow to elbow leaned over at astounding speeds, it was good to see that there is good cameraderie on the podium. I think that there is a genuine sense of friendship between Capirossi and Rossi. Nicky may have been just a little out in the cold. It was the Eyetalian grand prix after all. All in all, yet another great race in a season of great racing.

I can't believe they didn't have a better view of Casey's crash with all those bike camera's...even Casey's bike had a camera..that would be a good angle.
Here's Schumie on the back of Mamola...what a ride that would be.

Rossi's new skid-lid paint job - apparently by a famous (in Italy) cartoonist:
"My new helmet design is by a famous Italian cartoonist called Milo Manara," explained Valentino. "He has drawn a kind of mythical story of my life, with some of my heroes like Steve McQueen, Enzo Ferrari and Jim Morrison, with other characters like my dog Guido, Osvaldo the chicken and lots of beautiful women! I really like it and Milo is somebody I have admired for a long time."
Steve McQueen, Vale's pet dog & chicken(!), Enzo Ferrari (brown-noser!), sun & moon, and some inspiration.

Here's some info on Al-ichie (Alice)
DJ
As we predicted back in December last year, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro has signed a deal with Alice to replace Vodafone in 2007. The deal is believed to be worth $25m a year for at least three years.
Alice IS the broadband service of Telecom Italia and has recently launched an aggressive expansion programme in Europe. Telecom Italia, a Ferrari sponsor a few years back with its TIM mobile brand, has earmarked $2.5bn for the development of Alice in Italy and the plan is for the service to be in 8m homes by the end of this year. Alice has already entered the French and German markets, having bought up the broadband assets of Tiscali and others. The service offers music, games, movies, sports and online television, which offers the viewers the opportunity to watch what they want, when they want to on their home TV via a broadband connection offering direct access to a wide range of on-demand content, including over 350 movies and TV series, news, soccer matches and, in the near future, live concerts and reality shows.
Ferrari is the perfect fit for Alice for a number of reasons, not least because it reflects a high-technology image which telephone companies are interested in. There are clearly bigger international ambitions for Alice and in addition to the America's Cup sponsorship there are already international sponsorships in the European rugby championship and in MotoGP in which Alice is the sponsor of several races and is an official partner of the Marlboro-funded Ducati motorcycle team (and previously involved with Aprilia).
Here's Nicky after swapping hat for hair with the Alice promo girl.
