My big day today..on the water.

Today was one of those all time classic windsurfing days...hot...sunny...and very,very windy.

Our north wind comes right across central Australia and that's why it's a very hot wind.

I couldn't wait to get down to the beach today after checking out the live surf cams and wind details on the net...it said 30-40 knots from the north.

I was able to use my smallest sail (4.2)...and smallest and favorite board (8'6" asymmetric wave board)...

Here's a few pics...9I just thought it might bring a little warmth to your cold Winter just a little..:)..)

Note the asym' shape..short side one side..long side on the other side.



Do my arms look any longer...gees the wind was strong....and way..way..out the back the waves were huge...and I mean HUGE! (40 knots will do that)



On my way home along the freeway...I could see flames and smoke up ahead..cars were braking and swerving..and I was taking a pic..:D ..and getting ready to call 000..for the fire brigade.. ..it was just a grass fire on the side of the road...no real problem...fires are a big risk on hot and windy days like this.

Yeah, DJ, I enjoyed 'em. I was a somewhat serious board surfer back in the day. Started out in '63 or '64 on long boards and made the transition to short stuff in the late 60's. Kinda drifted away from it as music began to take over my life. Hard to catch the morning glass-off when the previous night's gig didn't end 'til 1:00 AM.

Never got a chance to try wind surfing. You have some fun for me. OK?
