Seen some replacement 2057 bulbs sets in the local auto parts store for about $16 for 2. Any one tried them in the rear light of a 50R?
They warn not for systems that generate more than 13.8Volts - never tested our systems max voltage.
I tried a couple of generic LED lights when I had my RR. As I recall they were fine when viewed straight on, but from an angle, not so good.
I have a BRAKE! LED on my KRS. I think it is also made for the RR. A little pricey, but an outstanding light. Much brighter than stock, and the flashing brake light is very effective.

Harry,
Do you have the Hyperlites that flash when you brake? Or a new unit that replaces the stock brake light that performs the same function? I'm considering getting the replacement unit made by Clear Alternatives for my R.

I had the Hyperlites and took them off when I installed the BRAKE! light. It replaces the stock light, is considerably brighter, and has the flashing functionality of the hyperlite. I found the link to the place I got mine. The same unit that fits my KRS fits the 1150R. These guy's price is as good as any I've seen.

I bought the "Brake" LED set-up about a year ago for my R50. If I recall correctly, there was a thread on the ADV site, with an offer of 10 or 15% off if you were a member of the site. Check it out on a search. Good Luck!
Hi
I have tried replacing the indicator lampos as well as the brake/tail globe on my R1150R with LED equivalents and I was very dissapointed. They are VERY directional. I have gone back to standard indicators but left in the brake/tail since I have added a Lite Blazer (from Nippy Normans UK as I am in Australia). The Lite Blazer fits under the rear number plate and I am very happy with it. I also added some Lite Buddies which are red LED blocs that fit into my clear indicator lens giving me 2 additional tail lights. Great overall effect.

On my Rockster, I have the BMW factory LED brake/drive light installed. The darn thing really stands out and can be viewed at various angles. On my Tuono, I have the Hyperlites mounted. These lights are bright, but for some reasons they are very directional. Unless you're directly behind it, you won't see the brightness. I still think that they're beneficial because I mount them underneath the license plate with one on each side ala "triangle of light" style.
