I was trawling through the server logs and found this
http://www.pittedchrome.blogspot.com/

Markus has written a blog about the THC ride. Pretty neat.

Dave,
I know you're strapped for time but.....Is this what you wanted your moto lit section to look like?

Will,
Will such a format work for your writeups?

Others....please chime in with comments/suggestions.

Abhijeet, that blog site might be a good option but I'd sure like it if we could keep Moto Lit on Cafe...just selfish I guess!
By the way, I like Markus's blog of our recent Hill Country Ride!
Yesterday Doug (vintagemxr) posted a link to his blog on the same site.
Could we set up something like that here or is that practical?

The only reason I haven't posted some things here is no one who bothers to really "write" something wants to see it disappear off of Page 1 on some relevant section and slide on into oblivion.

Some options might be to have a Moto Lit thread in an Off-Topic section with a sticky so it stays on top. I'd guess this would be easiest for you?

Another thought is just create a Moto Lit section along with all the others and let everyone post away.
Or let each "writer" have one thread there for all his own stuff. "The Writings of..."
Or have a number of threads there for different subject matter and let anyone post in the appropriate thread. I don't really like this one but I threw it out anyway.

Whichever option we do I hope the stories are festooned with pics...lotsa pics!
Maybe we should ask everyone to confine inline image sizes to not larger than SmugMug's "Large" option, or if a really big one is needed to just link to it? I'd hate to see us start having bandwidth problems due to oversize images that are difficult to view anyway, and I think we should adopt something similar in all our sections.

Wild Will is off covering some race for a local newspaper this weekend and I'd like to hear what he has to say...I hope he is past that BS of trying to convince us he is not a writer!!

What do you other guys think...we have lots of guys on here I *really* hope are interested in participating in Moto Lit!

Edit: See my related post in Site Suggestions & Critique> "New images available...load more!"
Another edit: I see Markus has a link to Cafe from his blog site...thanks!

That's what I had set up a while back on our site...."Nucleus". I haven't received any responses to whether it is usable or not.

Markus -
Good report on New Ulm...you need to come to our North Texas Norton Owner's Association Lake O' the Pines Rally near Jefferson in East Texas in Oct.
BMOA and NTNOA are "sister" clubs so I guess New Ulm and the Pines are "sister" rallies.
Any of you other Cafe derilects are welcome too, of course...see:
http://www.ntnoa.org
Come and see how we do it in Texas where "We don't care how the Hell they do it in California!"

Thanks for the kind word, Markus. I read your blog entry on the New Ulm event and I have to say that it sounds like it was waaaay more fun than the last BMW rally I went to. I think everyone was in their tents and and asleep by 10:00 PM. :037: Must have been the Brit bike guys that livened up the NU shindig.

Not me. I'm a night owl. I rarely get to bed before 11:30 or midnight. Rallies and camping usually suck because I always wind up sitting by the campfire by myself. 'O course since I married the redhead back in December I've mended my night owl ways slightly. >wink, wink, nudge, nudge<

I'm not ignoring your question. I'll check out the link asap. Pretty busy right now cleaning up after Dean's personal dance recital given by La Tigressa. It wasn't Dean; it was mostly caused by her chariot and 4 nags. Right through the asparaghus patch. Life on the frontier can be vexing.
