I finally got to pick up my adopted R1200ST. 2 tone silver. I have named her
"Tessie".
I loved my R, and am gonna miss her, but, I couldn't keep em both and the old Airhead.
I got in 60 miles on the ride home. I LOVE THIS MOTORCYCLE!!!!!!!!!!
Wow it handles, and the seating postion is just like my RS. Great brakes, and I can't wait to break her in and hit the rev limiter.
Best stock headlight I've EVER ridden behind. I had a Piaa lamp AND driving lights on the R and this one puts it that to shame...bravo BMW.
Jeez, there's so much, I don't really know what to say, so, I'm gonna live with her for a couple of weeks and give you a report.
FYI...I can't quit smiling, my face hurts from smiling so much on the ride home.

Roger -

I stopped by Victory BMW on the way to teach my MSF class tonight and I think I talked to you - when you were picking up your bike I commented on your red RR and told you I used to have one! Well it was nice meeting you, and congrats on the beautiful bike - it even looked good with side cases!

Take care and ride safe - Bob

I hope you and your new "friend" have a long, happy relationship. I do know the feeling of riding ones new bike home for the first time.

I was 14 when I got my first one, I slept in the garage with it that night. I didn't want it to be lonely.

Mostly I'm over sleeping with my new bikes - mostly.

Frank:)

Frank -

How did that look on your background form for your teaching job: "slept with motorcycle at age 14..." :)

(I have to admit to spending a lot of time in the garage with my bikes too:thumbs_up:)

Man, I am so envious. I really think there's got to be an ST in my not too distant future.

So how loaded is it? ESA? ABS? Tell all, please. Oh yeah, must have pictures.

Roger Dodger, congratulations on your new bike, that head light is nothing short of fantastic at night. Looking foward to riding with you.

As soon as the weather warms up we need a ride of the Arizona members.

If you want a Remus system, let me know, can save you some coin.

Thanks all...Damn how do ya post a pic? I dropped the digital way down and the file is still to big.
Hey Bob, introduce yourself next time! :) You gonna buy that GS?
Dean...lets ride, I'm riding everyday and LOVING it! I'm saving for that exhaust as we speak, spent all my money on the bike :omg: and have to keep some tire money set aside. I see a tire thread coming.
The ST(Tessie) has cases and ABS(wonderful, but weird, with the servo whine but I'm half deaf so its ok) no ESA though. She's the 2 tone Silver what ever girly color they call it.
Frank, I'd a slept with my bike last night, but the wife said if I did, get used to it:rolleyes:

I'd use IrfanView to drop down the resolution. Best freeware prog I've ever used.

Congratulations on the new bike Rog. I stopped by Victory yesterday and Tom was telling us about your new ride. They have four of five Sts sitting on the showroom floor. If I didn't have so much tied up in my KRS, I'd be jumping on one of those.

Rog, Harry - Victory is offerring the ST's at 3000 below MSRP according to Tom. They are holding my deposit on the new GT!!!:shade:

Harry - that K-bike of yours is awfully beautiful - I'd think carefully before trading it in on anything....

Yeah, Tom told me about the 3k discount yesterday. Today I heard from someone else that the 3k was a BMW incentive. Haven't been able to confirm that.

If true, I'd be a bit disappointed that Tom made it sound like a Victory deal. He did say that Rick (mgr) bought all the STs because he thought they'd be a hot seller. I never thought Rick was the sharpest tool in that shed.

The ST is a great bike, but like the R1150RS, its still a niche bike. Discriminating buyers will recognize the value, but they're few and far between.

Won't be trading the KRS anytime soon, its taken me two years to get it just the way I wanted it. Come to think about it, that's usually about the time I sell them. Hopefully not this time.

Sure would like to see $3k off of a KS or KR!!! Last year Tom at Victory told me he didn't want my Rockster for a trade in. This year, he says bring it in and get a KR. We'll see, prolly in April.

Hey Roger...Congrats!

Silver is the best color for a BMW.

Dean,

Did I see you said above the wait is almost over... April...:041: Will we then know about the R1200R? You can tell us your secrets , we won't say anything... be just us...

Don't know if we will know about the new Roadster in April, my gut feelings are released concurrent with the up comming R1200S or near abouts. We might start seeing some hints in April though, BMW is trying to keep this one close to its vest.

Look for something extremely intresting and exciting to start showing in spy photos next year ('07) for an early release as a '08 model. BMW's marketing dept is not even aware of this yet.

This Cafe is the first to have this posted anywhere in any moto rag or web. He He, I know what it is, any more poop would cause some serious prioblems and I would have to kill my self, or one of at least. Lets call it for now......Great Sound.
