While you guys in the states are enjoying your Spring and looking forward to Summer here in Oz we are in Autumn and Winter is just around the corner.

Today I thought I would make the most of a day off work and go for a ride up the hills...and stop at a few bike shops along the way.

I'm not sure if it was the orange leaves or not but I was thinking about poping into my local KTM dealer and checking out the latest orange machines.

They had heaps of new bikes...orange everywhere.

The one that caught my eye was not orange but black...a beautiful black 525 Motard.

I was wishing I was 5 yrs old when I saw the little 50cc mini bikes...when I was a kid my home made mini bike had a lawn mower engine.

I'm back on the road heading up the hills just out of Melbourne...it was warm and sunny....there were leaves everywhere...and the best twisty roads.

I caught up with a guy on a new black Yamaha MT-01...was rode together for a while...his bike sounded great..those rear pipes are HUGE!

We stopped to check out each others bikes...then he was off before I could get a pic of his bike.

My next stop was at this 'oil on road warning sign'..they had put sand along the edge of the road where the oil spill was....nice.

More roadside pics.

The road turned to dirt just before getting to the top...no probs for the RR.

Here I am at the top..at a nice lookout point.

There were lots of these little purple wildflowers...and thought I'd test the macro setting on my camera.

My last stop was for a bite to eat...that Devonshire tea sign got me in.

My faverite...Scones jam, cream and a nice cold coke to wash it down.

Cheers guys..hope you enjoy my pictures...and were the scones good?......what do you think...:D

Deej -

I'd call you an "American Original", as we like to say, but you are an Aussie and I wouldn't want to offend you or cheapen your originality.

Thanks for the great ride report as always! Beautiful country - and your bike has classic, clean lines.

Oz, a magical country, thanks DJ. BTW, those pics look like Skyline around Alices in the Santa Cruz mountains in Northern California.

Very nice pics DJ, thanks for sharing. Would be a worthwhile trip to visit your neck of the woods sometime.

DJ...Swwwweeeeettttt....

BTW, your bike's parked on the WRONG side of the road:) ...for us....
Summer's here in Arizona, 100 plus for 5 straight days with 5 more months to go.
I suppose IF we had tree's our leaves would change also, but alas, the cacti never loose the needles.
