Velos are sweet...rode several, never owned one.
Wish I had.
I have two buddies with a silver and a black one.

I have a little time on a Clubman (I think that's what it was called), the owner always parked it on the top of a hill - just in case. But it did sound and look like a proper motorcycle.

PS - I can't see any of your images.:icon_cry: Please try to post them again.:)

Great thread guys.....interestingly enough, I received an email a couple of days ago from my former assistant from when I was assigned to IBM UK. She's getting married in August and my wife and I will be attending. Her Dad still rides regularly, his everyday ride is a V Strom, but check out this bit from her email.....

"My dad however has been out everytime the sun has shown its face and
has managed to get out on both his bikes. Mind you his vintage motorbike
broke down on him last week whilst he was out on it, it seized up. He let
"her" cool down and then she started fine and they were off again! Bless
her, she's 71 years old this year (same age as dad) and she goes like a
little train.... she's a 1935 Mk 1 KSS Velocette. They were originally made
in Birmingham....ever heard of one?"

I'd like to go out and visit her parents when we're in town, maybe snap a pic, and maybe....beg for a spin on the old girl....:)

Great post Den, my old Dad would've loved it!

Tony, delighted to hear your friend's Dad is still able to enjoy his KSS. If you are lucky enough to score a ride out on it, please report back here. With photo's.

Cheers, Si.

Simon, will do. The wedding is actually in Goring By Sea in Worthing, West Sussex, at the Highdown Hotel, so not too far from you.

We're looking forward to being back in 'Old Blighty' !

Do you know of any good BMW dealers in the area ?

(apologies for the hijack)

Theese chaps are one of the better UK dealerships. Better still, they're not far from Goring. They are also the UK distributor for "Wunderlich" products.

While you're over here, maybe we could squeeze in a quick pint?
Cheers,
Si.
