errrr , I crashed. :(

soz guys, looks like the site is up and running though. :)

one thing - anychance of making a better front page? 'Under Construction' pages are a big net-no-no, and it at least needs a link to the forum.

This was supposed to be my responsibility, but I've damaged my right hand (fractured 3rd metacarpal) so errr web-building is going to be a little delayed.... :embarassed:

Crashed?

Boy o' boy, you will not believe the number of times we've heard that story. I think I even used it a couple of times when I was in school; I may have picked a different body part to injure, I can't recall just now.

Frank

PS - Riceburner, Sorry to hear about your crash. I do hope you get back in the saddle quickly. The father in me causes me to say, "STOP DOING THAT." :( Glad to have you back and wired again.

Rice - glad you're back and seem to be well enough to tap out a short message! We need a crash tale when you are up to it. Take care...

Damn Ricer, hate to hear that!
Hit us with details when you're able and take care of yourself.
Hope that wasn't your pud-pullin' hand you knocked out!

Wow, Riceburner...

Sad news to hear you crashed and barked up a paw.

Good news to hear you're okay and that you weren't hurt worse.

Best news is having you back, so hang in there. The front page can wait for ya'... And if one goes up before you're clapping with both hands again, no worries - remember we all set this up so it's run by the members, and we can always change the front page ot your design when you got it ready!

Get well quick!

Cheers!

Riceman,

Damn and blast. Heal well. Take care of yourself.

I've been working on a front page, slowly as time permits. When you're better, you can do something better, I'm sure.

Hate to say it.... but that was last time!!

Damage this time is similar, but a bit worse. :( Telelever ball joint took most of the energy and saved me again I'm sure. (Yup - BMW's have crumple Zones).

Basically I had a Land Rover County (the basic, swb version) lose control from heavy braking (he was cut up), and slowly spin right in front of me, I had nowhere to go: was braking heavily myself and any attempt to avoid would resulted in a fall and slide, so I braked to get the speed off before centre-punching him on the drivers door. :(

Bike is written off, and I expect the Landy is too, I managed to puncture it's fuel tank.

Damage to me is pulled muscles & ligaments in my thighs (from getting 'intimate' with the Rockster tank), bruised and achy left hand, and broken bone in right hand: currently plastered up. I'm off work while the hand mends, but cant really do much. :(

I've got fully comp insurance, but even so, proving liability will be a bitch cos the guy who caused the accident: the guy who over extended an overtake and cut up the Landy fucked off.

...glad it's not any worse. Sounds like you kept your head though, and managed the situation about as well as possible. Awful sorry about the bike and the hand. Don't really give a shit about the Landy, even if he(she) wasn't at fault.

Don't those things have ABS?

Rice,
Glad you have you here, and glad to know you are OK. As I am still recovering from my scapular fracture and painful rotator cuff after my getoff in October, I feel your pain....literally.

I imagine typing is a bit of a chore for you. Best wishes for quick recovery and feeling well as soon as possible.

err, yeah. :( both head-ons (for me).

Geechie - the Landy was an older f-reg (1989) basic model so no ABS
