I've just posted this on the old RR site...maybe someone here can help.
Has anyone replaced a broken indicator stalk before... :?:
Daily for almost five years I've backed my bike out of the single size door to my workshop without a problem doing the wiggle to squeeze through.
Yesterday while rushing through the doorway I clipped my rear indicator on the edge of the doorway and it went snap!....bugger!.bugger!.bugger!...
At first I thought about trying to glue it to fix it..but I ended up buying the new stalk..about $18 Aussie ( about $12 US).
Well I'll be buggered if I can work out how to get to the bolts that holds them..I'm hoping that someone here has been through it before..and can help.
Thanks.

There are some very limited instructions for a GS. I can only hope that they will work for an RR.

I have not had a chance to look at how they go together mechanically and am now at work.
There is an adhesive that would work on the plastic if you could get a hold of some. One brand here in the US is Loctite H3000 - it is usually an industrial adhesive not found in hardware stores - a two part methacrylate ester and methacylic acid in part A and aldehyde-amine condensate in part B. Any brand of adhesive in this chemical family would work.

DJ,
I've replaced mine a couple of times, first when I put on the Jessie bags, and then when I took off the Jessie bags.
I'm getting ready to go to the zoo I call work. If you have not been able to figure it out or find the instructions by the time I get back home, I'll take a look at them again. My stinking memory is just so bad these days. Just add a message that you still need assistence.
"These days?" chimes in my Bonnie.:058:

I think that little thingamajig is part of a doohickie that holds the wiring bundle under the tail light cavity. I could not get mine back in either. I would not worry too much about it, unless your turn signal fix requires accessing that cavity. Then it should be easy to re-attach. Or not?

Waaa-Hooo!
It took most of the morning but it's all done now..here's those nuts that I couldn't get to..to replace the stalk.

Here's the other end of the stalk...the bit that brakes off.

Thanks to BMW most of the screws are the same size...no thanks to BMW there was about 50 screws and nuts and bolts that I had to take off...sheesh!
At least I could give all those hard to get to areas a good clean.
