Thanks. My Dad had a '47 Matchless G3L like the one in the advert, although he was a big Velocette fan really. I still have one of the last Christmas presents I bought him, a framed series of line drawings of various Velo's ranging from a pre war MSS to a late model Thruxton.
When he died I asked my mother for it and it now hangs in my hall where I see it every day.
That way, every day I get reminded of the adventures we shared.
In the Isle of Man we cheered Malcom Uphill as he set the first 100mph lap by a production race machine.
At Silverstone we cheered Percy tait as he and "Slippery Sam" defeated all comers (again).
At Spa-Francorchamps we cheered Agostini as he and his MV gave another ear splitting demonstration of total supremecy.
All that and more. Much, much, more. All from you posting those old ads.

Man, we have got to compare collections of old motorcycle memorabilia!
That was really cool, thanks for posting.
If I ever get any free time again I need to scan & post some similar things.
I also have a pretty good collection of antique toys...motorcycles, airplanes, race cars, etc. I need to photo those and post.
We need to see if we have things to swap & trade...maybe others too?

Dad would've known for sure, but me? Hell, I was only the apprentice!

Hi Dave, I wish I could take credit for owning this stuff, But it is all stuff i found on the Web, But, (as many of us do) I do have some things one might consider collectable, and I think your idea of swap & trade just might go over.
