:wilted_rose: I have been reading a lot of posts by one of our newest members.

He ...or she....refuses to fill out his profile.....and acts as if he or she!!!! actually knows something about motorcycles!!!!!!!!!!

I am coming to the conclusion that he must be both the wearer of the infamous heliotrope thong..........and the equally famous gay mole :embarassed:

In any event, judging from his posts he is definitely gay....not that there is anything wrong with that....standard disclamer........and most assuredly does not know how to ride a motorcycle......thus a most appropriate pseudonym.

We could post Mr. Dickcheese's IP, and the IP's of our members. Might see some overlap there...

You know, I heard there is an old codger on this site who is grumpy and rides too fast. Is that you Mr. Dean O?
I also heard the only reason you ride so fast is your throttle is stuck. A little KY jelly on that puppy will bring you right back to half-fast, old timer.
Actually I do "know something about motorcycles". I learned it all on another site called R1150R.net. Oh, and I read the owners manual that came with my new "Honest" motorcycle. You can see one at: http://www.joeberkphotography.com/chinese_motorcycles.htm
As for thongs and gay moles, I think the mole part must be an inside joke or something, but I'm thinking now what I read on another forum must be true and if so, I think I've found a home! Is this truly the first gay motorcycle forum? A tip of the Nolan to you guys, this had to take guts and I hope it hasn't been too rough with all the homophobe a-holes out there.
You know, I don't think Mr. BobFV1 likes me?! I don't know what an "IP" is but I would rather not have any "searching and finding", it's just too soon!
Mr. Bones seems friendly and I will work on my profile, I hope you understand my reluctance but most of the boys here seem very nice so I think it's OK now.
Mr. Dallara is the only other guy who has spoken to me. I don't think he is really a meanie, I think I just caught him on a bad day when I was trying to be cute. I think if we could meet in person things would be different! I have been lurking a while and just love the way he writes about ABS. What a passionate fellow!
I better go for now. I am meeting a few friends for a little ride to a special tea-house near my town. Then we're off to Freddie's place to watch that funny as hell voice dubbed version of Brokeback Mountain!
If I see any of you in there I'll give you a big wave - Ha, Ha!

Cheesedickie, not so alone now

Interesting, too, Dean...

How we now have a member named "bmwdoug" who hasn't filled out his profile either.

Now understand, I am not saying any one person is any other certain person. I don't have enough data to draw any such conclusions. I am only tossing some tidbits out there for some reflection.

However, that being said, truly I do NOT think we should post anybody's IP posting addresses or the like. At least not at this point. After all, Cheddar Pecker has been entertaining and friendly, and hasn't posted anything to cause any grief or consternation. Perhaps this discussion of the possible/probable identities of members is best taken up in the "Sandbox" among just the founders and paid members. After all, that's what we set that area up for, and also how we all decided we would handle such issues.

Besides, who really cares if some of our new *faces* are the previous gestapo from that *other* board?

Didn't we say we would welcome them? Rise above their heavy-handed, juvenile, draconian tactics and avoid censorship and arbitrary judgements?

Besides, who could blame 'em if they came over here? God knows that the *old* board has become a wasteland of dull, droll, repetitive drivel... Endlessly rehashing the various little nuances of the R-1150-R like when to change the oil to synthetic, German warranty air in the tires, which color is fastest, how to shift it smoothly, etc., etc., etc. ad infinitum to the point of nausea. There is no color... no life... no vibrancy... over on the *old* board. We all know that, and so do the owner and his minions minioning.

Hell, isn't even their hallowed Torrey, Utah "West Coast Beakster Bash" a complete flop, with no one planning to attend?

(No offense to you there, Dean. I know you helped put that ride together, but there seems to be no interest in it on the *old* board, and no one seems to even want to talk about it...)

Let's forget about who's who right now... At least here on the main board. If we want to discuss the who's and where's of new members we should at least move the subject to the "Sandbox" where we are supposed to be discussing such things. Doing that might even entice our new *faces* to pay their money so they could see (and participate) in the discussion about 'em... :082:

If you will recall, I mentioned a long time ago that I knew some of the *chosen few* from the *old* board were lurking around here... It was bound to happen. I mean, what choice did they have? Guys like mcooperstein dared anyone to start their own board, telling anybody who would listen that is was simply far too hard for anyone but ol' Dougie to do it, and being convinced that no one would call his bluff. He also stated quite clearly that no one that is now here on this board would be missed from there... You have but to look over there at the place now to see that many of the voices here are sorely missed over there. The place is DEAD, DEAD, DEAD!

I say "Bring 'em on!" We can show them just how one of these damn board things ought to be owned and operated.

Cheers!

Allan (Dallara - NAABSCD)

Mr. Dallara - I just LOVE you!
What is the "Sandbox"? Do you play nice or pay rough there??
How can I get in?

Cheesedick, so happy it's Spring once again!

Allan - I don't think so either. But I would like to underscore that all of that information is available.

Mr. Bob, would this lead to banning someone?

Cheesy

Cheesy

Good grief, I hope not! We are 100 percent ban free (at least so far), and besides, that wouldn't be my call anyway....

Just keep being cheesy - you'll fit right in!:) The more character the better, and you seem to be quite a character.

ABS is for pussies.

Two responses;

1. The old Hoon - grumpy and rides too fast? Cheddar stick needs to meet and ride with the Hoon. Far from grumpy - interesting, helpful, mild, intelligent, entertaining, great company - and on and on.

2. Rides too fast? Yup, he rides fast, knows how to ride and when to ride fast. Knows the bikes he rides and how to use them well. He rides long distances as well as the twisties with enthusiasm.

"Too" fast would imply he is reckless - no, spirited -yes. How do I know? Ridden Torrey, Big Bend, Davis mountains, and Hill Country with him and others. To some the fast riding might be considered reckless, but they are welcome to their opinions.

2. This site, banning and other matters? As one of the 'original' group, personal integrity, openness and mutual respect for others was a part of our Base Line. Say your piece and respect others to have theirs. Agree to differ. We ride a wide and open road in life.

Fill in your personal details. Live open if you want the respect of your peers.

Cheesedick,
My only interest in the profile info is for general perspective. But it really isn't that important. An example might be that if someone said they were retired from aircraft manufacturing, it might be worth tipping a thread their way or specifically asking for their thoughts on something related to some new fangled mechanical gizmo being touted for new bikes. Or if someone has flying as a hobbie, there are analgous things that come up between bikes and planes. Others may be musicians, writers or even.....cheesedicks. If someone indicated they were from Arizona and one of us was taking a trip, they might have info. on renting a bike.

I took a trip to SanDiego two years ago and wanted to rent an 1150R and someone from the old board directed me to a guy who rents them. Fantastic.

That was my only motivation. Kind of like meeting a friend of a friend in a bar when a group of guys gets together for a beer. "Where 'ya from? What are you riding these days." That kind of stuff. Not essential, but kind of nice to know.
