I wonder how the iPhone would hold up to the vibration? Seems risky but then I like to have the right tool for a given job.

Yeah, I don't know.
I just came across that and thought it might be of interest to guys who have iPhones but not vid capable cameras.
Me? I don't have either!
Another way of looking at it is phone vids are helping revolutionize the world right now.

I have an I-phone (and am using it to post this). It's a clever bit of kit and no mistake. I do take the odd photo with it if
I don't have a camera with me although I haven't tried the video yet.
When I bought my Nikon they threw in a "sports camera", a tiny little thing. I should have brought it over, I would love to have a video souvenir of that ride with you and Dean!

I have friends who work at Apple - specifically, where they test products for vibration and shock. They say they *have* tested the iPhone in conditions similar (and more extreme) than on a motorcycle but Apple will *not* warranty it for such.
So, if you mount it to your bike and it breaks, you're on your own.

You're very welcome and while I stopped posting, I never "left" - kept reading the forums. Living in Portland OR, after the divorce and loss of my (beloved) FJR...

I was going to say something like that, but while "too soon old, too late smart" is a truism, sometimes we do learn a little along the way.
Over time, you will see a hell of a lot of "real life" here.
But no reality TV!
We're just a small, friendly tavern where everybody knows your name...
