I have never ridden one of those K bikes, but I sure would like to. I know they are considered heavy, but I love the lines of them and have heard they are great on long stretches. I do know a local guy who rode one from here (Upstate NY) to San Diego and back in ten days. I don't know WHY he did that, but that is one hell of a long trip in ten days.

Mike,
What kind of luggage do you have on the back of the KRS? How do you secure it?

Beautimous pictures. Nice that there is such a visual contrast between the two bikes. I'd take either one, at the right price. Truly great trip. Good onya.

No two ways in my book...... The KRS looks exactly what it is, a "Gentleman's Express". Able to leap accross continents in a single bound. Cossetting it's rider(s) at whatever speed they choose.
Truly a machine with which you can breakfast in London, lunch in Paris and dine in Monte Carlo.
The GS, while undoubtedly a most excellent machine, has (to me at least) the BSA style of a large , powerful magnet having been dragged through a scrap yard.
Good job we're all different eh?

That reminds me of my buddy the helicopter pilot's description of the UH-60 we used to shuttle into and out of Beirut: ten thousand spare parts flying in formation."
BTW - Jerry Garcia is no Roger Daltrey, but you still got to love his music...

I use the Chicane "Mesa" Bag on the back.
I secure it with the BMW Large Luggage Rack/Mount Plate with BMW Codeable Key and Lock Kit.

Mike,
Damn! That looks like it was a great trip. Thanks for taking the time to take pictures. The K-RS is a beautiful bike in its own unique and inimitable fashion.
