I happen to run across this picture, should be easy for most, but it was a surprise for me. Den

Is an Indian Velocette. Floyd Clymer (former publisher of "Cycle World") had the rights to the Indian name and had a couple of not very successful attempts at launching new models. This one used the engine/gearbox of the Velocette Thruxton. It was one of the final runs of that engine and as Velo went bust in 1970 I would guess this at about that time.
Interesting machine.

Don't perzactly know what it is, but the top end doesn't look much like an Enfield. Least not a stockish Enfield...Sorta Beezerish looking to me. Tribsa? Kawasaki?

"The Indian Velo with leaks
never developed enthusiast cliques
hard starting and rank
it went down with a clank
but so what?
antiques is antiques!"
The only time I found myself offended by a poem :icon_wink:

Funny, "offensive" poems?
Here's a real advertising tagline from the 20's:

"You'll never wear out the Indian Scout,
Or it's brother the Indian Chief.
They're built like rocks to take hard knocks,
It's the Harleys that give the grief!"

Cheeser the Sleazer, speaking alone.

PS - Mr. Simon D, my bad calling that cute but evil British-Italian-American clunker a "Clymer Enfield", I knew it was a Clymer Velo. A buddy had one, I rode it and must completely agree with the poem!

Simon, Very good, I had never seen one so I thought it might make an interesting triva question, I read that only 100 - 150 were built. Den
