NEW YORK (AP) -- "Sopranos" actor James Gandolfini shook off a scary fall after a taxi whacked him off his Italian motor scooter, a spokeswoman for HBO said.
"James Gandolfini is fine, and his scooter is in the repair shop," said HBO spokeswoman Angela Tarantino.
Gandolfini, who plays mob boss Tony Soprano on the hit HBO series, was motoring on Hudson Street in lower Manhattan Wednesday when his scooter collided with the cab.
Gandolfini left the scene in another taxi and arranged for his crippled scooter to be picked up to be fixed.

with years of track experience, and punishingly fast on the infamous San Fran Sunday Morning Ride, was taken out by a SF cabbie, which turned into his lane, threw him off his bike sideways, and ripped his arm almost out of the socket (severe nerve damage). The cabbie, an undocumented Chinese man with a legal cab medallion but no insurance, who spoke no English, could not be located. He skated free. My pal, lucky to be a rich lawyer with a monster firm, could NOT locate this cabbie, nor could the Police. It took two years for him to return to riding, and he paid all his own bills.
So, not all undocumented aliens are from south O the border, and WATCH OUT when riding in an urban environment! I know, it doesn't make sense, but it happened.
Poor Gandolphino; nothing's uglier than a dented Vespa.
