The first rider participating in the first-ever MSF 100 Motorcyclists Naturalistic Study rode off with a fully instrumented, data-logging bike from the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, marking the start of the year-long research project.
(Don't worry Dean...Algore had nothing to do with it!)

Glad to see someone doing a real world study instead of just after-the-fact analysis. The results should be interesting to see. I think in their test fleet they needed to include a few squids on a Gixxers and some fat old guys on Harleys. :amazon:

The study will track two age groups each — one in the 21-to-34 age group and one in the 45-to-64 age group — on seven motorcycle models from five brands. Motorcycle types include sport bikes, cruisers and touring bikes.

I guess they think us old farts don't ride...or don't crash. How cool. :016:
