:020: Well, after a stop gap ABS system ( required in the California Highway Patrol bid requirements), submitting with the HD add on 103 inch motor they were finally able to hit the 110 MPH top speed requirement..just barely BTW, the bikes would then develop a vicious speed wobble at 110.

Try as they might, even with Arnolds blessing and extensive modifications, Harleys could not cut it so it looks like the 400 motorcycle bid for the CHP ( California Highway Patrol ) will go to BMW after all.

Those Harleys sure sound good and look pretty however. :)

I thought that CHP was testing the Honda ST1300 as well?

Sweet. I love seeing those BMW black and whites.

....we'll, on second thought, I don't like seeing them at all.
But glad BMW may get the contract. :icon_wink:

They had some issues with the Honda as well.

Well, I was so looking forward to the state sanctioned revenuers being forced to ride those dinosaurs, rather than the Star Trek BMW's that just appear out of nowhere. The CHP motor officers, those empowered to ruin your day for a measley few mph over the limit, must be a happy group.
Personally I wish they all rode Korean Hyosungs or Russian Ural machinery, but only because Iran doesn't make a motorcycle.

I hear ya Will. OTOH, I really hate to see the motorcops on anything but the safest bikes, they have a risky enough job as it is. Sort of levels the playing field.
